That clip was used to spoof several different things, but firstly FSX when it was just released. It was called *Sim Heil*[url="http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx[/url]

The idea was not original and the excessive profanity was totally unnecessary. It could have been just as amusing without all the swearing.

Yup, I agree with you there Ray. In fact, the first time that spoof got posted on AVSIM it was deleted, and frankly I think it should be deleted again as it is nothing but a barrage of crude language masquerading as humour.I'm by no means a prude when it comes to swearing and profanity, but when it comes to comedy, excessively falling back on swearing is just a lazy substitute for decent writing. One well-timed swear word in a comedy sketch can be a stroke of genius, so I'm not against its use, but when a skit is littered with profanity, it's not only crude, but misunderstands the well known 'secret' of great comedy - timing.I was also less than impressed with the fact that it had a dig at many other flight sim websites and add-on makers when the vast majority of them expressed strong support for AVSIM at the time the site was hacked, which to me demonstrates a tactless lack of understanding and a cheap shot at some of AVSIM's best well wishers when AVSIM was in difficult circumstances. Many of those sites offered practical assistance at the time, along with their moral support.As if all that isn't bad enough, it also shamelessly plagiarises a couple of much better skits about FSX which used the very same movie clip at the time FSX came out.Al

Well said Al. Your comments about other sites being criticised when they offered help to AvSim is one I totally agree with.I'm not sure how clips on that site are deleted but for anyone reading this who is tempted to view it - don't bother.

Man, you guys are harsh. I think you missed the point a bit :( its just a simple video posted for comedy..and yes I found it extremely funny, a no, I don't think they were serious about the other sites.lighten up :(

Apparently some people live under rocks. I enjoyed it and he took artistic license with the subtitles which, wait for it, wait for it.........he is allowed to do!!! Imagine that!! If you dont like it, nobody ifs forcing you to click on the link.

I know nobody is forcing me to click on it, and the author is allowed to do what he likes. But given that it is extremely derogatory toward lots of companion sites and developers, I would question whether it should be linked from AVSIM. Or to put it another way, could you see some of the sites that are the butt of the jokes wanting to host a link to it on their forums? Nope, and given that those same sites were very supportive of AVSIM when it had difficulties, do you think we should be hosting a link to it?Al
