Hey Guy's,Remember Graham Waterfield of PSS creators of the Airbus Pro, Boeing 777 etc well looks like they will be coming back this Spring with NEW and improved product's http://www.phoenix-simulation.co.uk/ . Look here for a previous review of their old Beoing 777 http://www.avsim.com/pages/0700/b777pss/b777pss/pss.htmlInteresting Antony Waterfield (Grahams son) has now taken over and bought all rights but let's hope both the product's and support are massively improved.Enjoy!

Which spring? It's summer 2009 now. :( Best regards

Hello,

Which spring? It's summer 2009 now
I know .. all is globalization now evil.gif .. but not yet for the seasons .. badteeth.gifMaybe the PSS guy(s) are based in the South emisphere .. it's winter there 26253307.gifRegards.bye.gifGus.

That's exactly what I was going to say too...burr chilly...Mark

I think this was brought up in the PSS forum (here) back in February when the 'Back in Spring 2009' graphic appeared. Some fairly vicious comments were posted. But the image has been on their site for a good while now, and nothing yet... I don't think I'll hold my breath.

Ah, yeah, halleluya they are coming back. But, as somebody in this thread already stated, what spring are they planning for their return? 2009 spring is over now.

I'd be amazed if the Waterford clan had the gaul to re-launch under the same name / brand, after the apalling way they handled their 'departure' from business......... (1,000s of customers left unable to re-install products they had PAID for).Unless there's been a marked change in their abilities to work with FSX, I wouldn't be getting too excited - PSS had their day in FS2002 times, maybe FS2004. Sure, their 'Airbus Pro' (A320) was great back in the day but thinking about their 757 and 777, mmmmmm.Give it a miss thanks - and yes, I was one of the customers that had over $200 of products with them, that lost them all when they whipped their site away and left their customers high and dry.D.

I loved the A320 - it was the first aircraft that I managed to successfully land. I would be interested to see what they've got up their sleeve.

Without going into any detail, I knew Graham as an email friend and if you were left high and dry it was not out of any malice or intent to rip people off. (Trust me.)Now ...Was there purchase-related stuff you were told to save at the time of purchase that would have allowed you to reinstall later on your own without using the PSS website?

No!

Okay, thank you. Next question ...Where does a businessman apply for permission to go out of business? (And can you think of another important website that recently went down without your permission?)Now for a series of questions, all intended to teach by the Socratic method ...How much value have you gotten out of your purchases? Was it all for nothing? No value ever? Where do a businessman's obligations to his customers end? If you think you're entitled to a refund, what percentage refund ought it to be? And who should pay it? And why?Should developers/sellers of addons bank all their revenue on the off chance that you will want it back? What if the money was spent? (You don't save all of the pay you receive from your employer, do you? On the off chance that they might think you've been doing a bad job and will want it back?)

Oh Mike! Please??? Do you ALWAYS know best?

Well Mike, I have read quite a few of your posts here and hold them in high regard. It is obvious from your post that you are friends of some level with Graham and good for you. However, I think that there is far too many people that were upset at their inability of re-installing their product, a product at which they purchased in good faith, for this kind of a justification.PSS set up up an online activation as the only way to properly install their product. They accepted the funds from the consumer stating that the product was for use with FS2004 or 2002. I still have FS2004...I don't have my Dash-8 though. When the consumer paid, they were not told that it was a limited time software. Like myself, they likely thought it would be good till they were done with that version of FS.I know that they are not the only retailer that uses the online activation. I would suspect that a lynching party would quickly form up if PMDG dropped off the face of the earth.Bottom line is, they could have closed the storefront, but they should have kept the activation servers online until they could develop some sort of exit plan.So even if you know Graham, they messed up and angered a lot of people. This is something that they will be hard pressed to overcome and for you to attempt to rally to their defense will only serve to make those who read your posts think slightly less of you.Respectfully,ChuckCYXU

Generally, yes. (Shields up.) But if you don't agree, tell me when and where I've gone wrong without admitting it once educated ...... And anyway, even if I was wrong in every other case, tell me where I'm wrong in THIS case.(By the way, if you really want to put people down, in future you should write "Puh-leeze".)

I'm glad you've enjoyed my posts. However, I don't mind running the risk that you and others will think less of me for defending Graham, who was indeed a friend though not a close one. I can and will continue to defend him in public, just as I did more than a year ago. Good reputations are too easily destroyed these days. You folks seem to think that you've been ripped off when in fact you're simply the victims of an accident, in the same position as creditors left holding the bag when a debtor who's been making his payments dies in an accident leaving an estate that isn't worth much.Let me ask you this ... What if Graham had been hit by a truck, become incapacitated, become unable to pay his bills, had the website disappear out from under him, and then died without your having been told about it? ...... You see, again without going into detail, that's a very good analogy to what actually happened. Please cut a decent (and enormously talented) man some slack. Remember the good in him and PSS, and then move on with your lives. It's self-destructive not to ...... And if by chance he decides to re-enter the business, please try to forget the past and instead welcome him back.
