July 9, 200916 yr Disregard that fixed it, seems you have to start TrackIR before FSX. I still have one more problem and that is the keys to pause and centre and use prescision dont work when you have FSX selected, i have to TAB out to TrackIR hit the F9 key and then tab back into FSX any thoughts on that issue? I think I fixed this one, looks like you have to run TRACKIR as administrator. Really windows Vista is a balls of a operating system, they are supposed to makes things work easier rather than harder as time goes by, getting Vista to work correctly with programs reminds me of windows 3.1 days were you prayed that any software you got would work with whatever hardware you had.OK update again this is really driving me crazy, to get the key assignements to work in TrackIR you have to run it as admin, HOWEVER running it as admin is what is causing the crazy leaping around screen of your viewpoint and the reversal of the way you look ie head turns left view turns right, totally confused as of right now, why on earth would running the program as admin cause the view to get totally whacked out?
July 9, 200916 yr Just turn UAC off altogether. Give the both yourself and the administrator user each a strong password; give the guest account a very strong password then disable it; Log in as yourself and then setup everything as yourself. Use the firewall and an a/v client.to secure the pc. i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.

July 9, 200916 yr Hey,Just an update. I'm using XP SP3 x32 bit and I'm having the same issues as you have. To be honest, I thought I've wasted my hard earned money on it. I'm not happy at all and the support is bad. What's happening is that whenever I start to turn my head and then rotate, it jumps everywhere. I have turned the settings to default and in a pitch dark room, but still no sign of relief. I thought I would share my thoughts here with you,Astro
July 9, 200916 yr You need some light for the reflectors to work! I don't know if the monitor in its own will give you enough light. I've never had TrackIR in a pitch dark environment. In a normal room with normal light, boot up your TIR. In the View menu, there are three options, try each one:TRACKING: You should have three green dots. Anything else and you need to make adjustments, especially if you see more or less than just three dots, video artefacts, or red images. HEADS: Use the heads view to get an idea of how the virtual head is moving with regard to your own head.GAUGES: Use the gauges tool to fine-tune the TIR inputs. It's fairly intuitive. Also be sure your TrackIR is in the correct mode! Choose your profile (or make a new one), and press EDIT. You should see the MOTION tab. Make sure the TRACKING button matches your hardware! For instance, if you have a TrackClipPro, don't use Dot! That will certainly cause problems. Finally, if you are in EDIT, you can find the HOTKEYS tab, which allows you to set new key commands for your system. If all else fails, update your TIR software and/or reinstall it. July 9, 200916 yr What's the difference, I was thinking about buying this hardware....Sometimes folks write Reviews on AVSIM. Sometimes they even write Reviews about products other people are interested in. Not meaning to be rude here, just saying you know. Sometimes the Reviews are really detailed and explain a lot of features that might be new to other people. Always, always, always these Reviews take many hours to research, compile, illustrate, write, edit, and publish. Unpaid hours by volunteers, I might add. You can find entries on all of the products that have AVSIM Reviews on the AVSIM Reviews Server. Included is everything you ever need to know about TrackIR and its various add-ons over time.Jeff ShylukSenior Staff REVIEWERAVSIM

July 9, 200916 yr What's the difference, I was thinking about buying this hardware....The TrackClip (standard) uses IR reflective material, and bounces back IR light at the camera, usually attaches to the brim of a hat.TrackClip Pro uses active IR LEDS, which allows you to turn of the IR leds on the camera itself, and also attaches to the left side of a headset.

July 9, 200916 yr Are you using the TrackClip, or the TrackClip Pro?What version of the TrackIR software are you using?Looking at the camera view/tracking screen, do you see 3 tracking objects, anything more?1. Using both to be honest, it's the Pro I'm having trouble with, and it's the most convenient for me to use .2. 4.1 Build 343. Yes I do...and nothing red.

July 10, 200916 yr OK, when using the TrackClip Pro, have you selected TrackClip Pro in all the differnt profiles (Flight, combat flight, default, etc.)?Not using both at the same timeDone all of the above. Uninstalled, reinstalled, washed the transponder thing, upated, still giving me a pain in the butt! Also the heads under show the anomalies.
July 10, 200916 yr Have you posted on the Track IR forum. Lots of help there. If your screen and the heads in the head screen are rotating improperly there's something wrong with the Track IR unit or the program or your settings. Jump over to the forums there and see if someone can sort this out. On my old rig, Track IR is nearly perfect using the track clip or the track clip pro. The most common cause I've seen on their forums of this problem is using the track clip pro with the program set for the track clip or the other way around.
