July 16, 200916 yr Is it possible to model a static 3D copilot in the VC? I know about polygon limits but have a look at the J41 and the Captainsim 767 with the virtual cabin, they're loaded with polygons. It seems slightly strange to me flying around with empty seats in the cockpit. maybe have another .mdl or a .dll module to switch the 3d copilot on or off.
July 16, 200916 yr It has been done a few times and is certainly possible, although as you note, it does up the polygon count (the new Just Flight Beechcraft Duchess has 3D people figures in the VC, which you can click on to remove if you like).A pic of one of them in the Duchess:Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
July 16, 200916 yr There's an optional front seat passenger in the DA Dornier 27, and she's animated very convincingly, looking around and all. But, to be honest that does not work so well in an airliner where the copilot is supposed to be doing something too..Kimmo Kyle
July 16, 200916 yr Commercial Member I'd personally rather see nothing in the seat than some creepy low-poly model like that lol... Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
July 16, 200916 yr Absolutely, I click on them right after it loads, and they are gone.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
July 16, 200916 yr Commercial Member Reminds me of a Wilco Biz jet I bought a while back, every time I would look back over my shoulder with track IR I would see a freaky lo poly air hostess looking at me, dont know why anyone would want to see that lolRob Rob Prest
July 16, 200916 yr I think the FO should be one of those blowup dolls like in the movie Airplane. Dan Downs KCRP

July 17, 200916 yr and they're not so helpful if you're operating your vc from the right seat either!
July 17, 200916 yr Author and they're not so helpful if you're operating your vc from the right seat either! That's why I think there should be an on/off switch, like the winglets in the 744. Don't like it? Switch it off.IMO the one in the Duchess looks bad because it had very low resolution textures. if the resolution is increased it would look much better. Remember an old game from 2001 called Max Payne? It had a low poly model yet it looks pretty good because of the textures.Have a look here:
July 17, 200916 yr That should be in the new PMDG simulation options...just for kicks...Another vote for a clickable copilot. The VC looks really empty without one. And as FS2crew provides us with a copilot, it would be nice to give the guy (or gal) a face...Please also note that some sims (for example captain sim's legendary 707) provide a copilot that you can see in cockpit view (view right). As for other figures (flight attendant etc...) OK if they are REALLY good looking but I'd rather save the polygons as they don't really enhance the sim experience (and add-ons like FS2crew allow to simulate communication with them so they don't need to physically appear in the cockpit). My 2 cts...Bruno
