NVIDIA 190.38

Featured Replies

The latest driver for NVIDIA 190.38 doesn't seem to do much to improve frame rates, but in DirectX 10 I got a flash of progressive taxi when I turned it on. Then it disappeared. Never seen that before. One day it may stay on.I get less stutter in DX10 than with the previous version.

With a Q6600, an 8800 Ultra and XP Pro, I experienced degradation to both image quality and frame rates. Gratefully reverted to 182.50.

Ditto, although I was tested the unsigned beta version of 190.38, 182.5 is definitely the best driver for FSX with my GTX285.

Cheers, Andy.

Interesting ... I've got a Q6600 with a 8800 GTX. I'm using 190.38 coupled with 2.5.1 nHancer. Also using Vista64. I have to say over all previous drivers, FSX has never looked better to me.

It's not about looks its about frame rates, they are simply better with 182.5 and there is no issue with sound popping and distortion with certain hardware with 182.5 either.

Cheers, Andy.

I absolutely agree. Frames are important. I didn't lose any or gain any frames by moving to 190. And fortunately I don't have any sound issues whatsoever. What I have seen is a visual clarity and image crispness and improved color and shading like I've never had with previous drivers. I'm still locked in at 30 fps and wish I could maintain that over big cities. Maybe Windows 7 will help with this a bit. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed.

Try deleting your FSX.cfg, it will build a new one the next time you start, also did you remove the drivers for your previous card before installing the 285.

Cheers, Andy.

I am satisfied with this version. Was trying every release, but this is the first version which stays here more than 5 minutes since v182.50
