New payware 777 developement

Featured Replies

Almost every modern airliner has been modelled with advanced model and systems in fs9/fsx.The PMDG 737, PMDG 747, MDG MD 11, Level D 767, Captainsim 757, Captainsim 767, Qualitywings 757, Maddog MD-80, NLS A380, Airsimmer airbus family , SSTSIM Concorde all the PSS products and the large amount of CLS prodects- the list is endless. But one crucial modern airliner is missing: the Boeing 777.I am aware of the freeware models from posky but of course they lack systems and even with merges the experience is not great. Also I own the Wilco 777 and that lacks details aswell. And the PSS is outdated now and is lacking models.I was wondering if anybody knows any companies thinking about starting an in-depth simulation of the 777.Personally I beleive a PMDG/Level D standard 777 is really lacking from both fsx and fs9.Any comments or opinions welcomed and appreciated.ThanksRichy

I'm more missing a classic airliner, like the DC-8, Convair, 707. Or the props: DC-4/5/6/7, Connie, etc. I think we've nailed the modern airliners.PSS (Just Flight now sells this version) and Wilco offer a 777! Just Flight's offering from my understanding offers the usual PSS system's modeling.

Yep I understand completely :( .I think its just because I have only really experienced modern aviation and would love a complete boeing fleet. But you cannot argue with needing a simulated a380 :( Also with the dc-8 I could not agree more I like this aircraft alot and would love to do some cargo runs or old passanger routes.Thank you for the reply.Richy

PSS avionics is well modeled, and I have merged the panel/avionics with posky 777, posky is absolutely the best 3d model and it is for free!!as Zach said there are other models that need to be done, for example the Airbus 320 is totally missed and we have near 4000 A320 around the world, this airliner is second only to the boeing's 737 series.....

No doubt the PSS is a brilliant aircraft but it only gets really good when merged with the posky model. This is why I personally would love a new 777 aircraft.Could you link me up to some instructions on finding that merge please? will the vc gauges work correctly?Thank youRichy

We could use a Boeing 717 as well. I just mentioned it to a developer who I'll be beta testing for in a few...

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super OC 16GB - Pimax Crystal Light VR

I 100% agree. It baffles me why companies choose to develop the same plane as other companies when a 777 is clearly a gap in the market.

Absolutely. There are so many aircraft that you just know people would buy if there was a really high fidelity one around: DC-8, DC-10, DC-4, L-1011, Trident, 1-11, Britannia, Viscount, Vanguard, numerous Convairs, Comet, Boeing 720, VC-10, CRJ, LearJet, B-52, Herald, ATR-42, Tupolev 214, A300, Caravelle etc, etc.Al

You're a well informed FS guy; I'm sure you're aware of these excellent freeware solutions: Trident, BAC 1-11, Comet, and VC-10. HEREAnd of course AFG's offering of the Caravelle ++BEWARE: NO VC++: http://www.alliedfsgroup.com/ Great Systems modeling! At least the a couple of the Brit's classics are covered! The Trident is one cool airplane; very fast. :(But back on point. I hear/see a lot of folks wanting a proper 777, but I can't find fault with PSS's/Just Flights add on. The VC is more than acceptable, and I spend 80% of my time in there anyway. I couldn't imagine losing the VC just to get a prettier external model! To each his own, though!

I agree to, There needs to be a new DC-8, B-52, B-58, Boeing 707,and the Boeing 720. All the payware vendors are focusing on modern glass cockpit planes and leaving the steam gauge cockpits alone. Don't get me wrong I love flying the new planes BUT I love navigating by the old DELCO civa INS and the old nav gauges. We need more old planes with full working systems.

The JustFlight (PSS) 777 is really a nice piece of work, and is certainly detailed enough to hold one's interest. I've merged it with the Posky non-VC models, and use my own 2-D sideviews derived from screenshots of the excellent Posky VC, which results in good framerates at even the most demanding airports.

My sentiments 100% - As brilliant as Posky's models are, I'm a vc flyer, and have spent many pleasant hours crossing the globe in the PSS777 vc, and the little time I spend in spot view, the model will do. I'm glad I convinced Graham Waterfield it was important to include the distinctive sloping roof in the forward fuselage way back when he was building the models and taking suggestions :( Otherwise it would look like a giant 767. Wish he'd listened and fixed the engine pylons and vertical stab, but oh well.

Regards,

Mark

I agree with all posts here about the complete lack of some aircraft and too many of another aircraft. Many aircraft are in need of being made I just personally would love a 777 so I made this topic expressing my feelings. For sure a 717, new dc-8 and a300-600 should all be worked on but I was hoping someday for a beautiful 777 model with highly advanced realistic systems as is todays standards in airliner simulations. In other words a PMDG 777 :( Thanks for all the response.Richy

While I agree that a new 777 is overdue, I believe the A310 and A300-600 series is far more overdue.I still use the SSW A310 which was developed for FS2002 with my FS9... that product was released in 2003! Not to mention lack of HQ VC or really exceptional model, yes I think the CLS and SMS models could be better.
