July 28, 200916 yr If anyone is looking right now, you can see the "blue dot" just past the numbers on 18R.Yes, I saw it! There was a lot rain falling late yesterday but nice clear blue skies today and they are back on 36L/R! Looks like a lot of people are there today too checking out all the aircraft. It looks tempting to drive there in my little red Vette from Virginia as I could be there by tomorrow PM but will stay home this year and watch it on this live feed. Thanks again for the link!Jim Young

It's awesome to look at the "campgrounds" on either side of rwys 09/27 in the northwest corner of Whittman and see the several thousand a/c parked...http://images.eaa.org/ehotline/lede_camping.gifHere are some excellent photos from last year's Air Venture 2008 showing some awesome aerial views:http://www.maxtrescott.com/photos/airventu...s/dsc_0031.html Fr. July 28, 200916 yr Such a fantastic idea having the live webcam. Do they do this every year? I am currently watching it in the UK waiting for WhiteKnightTwo to takeoff for it's demonstration.Isn't the internet wonderful.Rhydian

July 28, 200916 yr Be sure to tune in AirVenture EAA radio while watching the airshow on live cam so you get the airshow announcer :((close as you get since they won't turn the camera toward the flight line)
July 29, 200916 yr DEFINITION:Runway Incursion;= Oshkosh AirVenture.Amazing 2 aircraft landing the same runway(09/27) while three others on the other runway(18/36).,,,,,WOW
July 30, 200916 yr DEFINITION:Runway Incursion;= Oshkosh AirVenture.Amazing 2 aircraft landing the same runway(09/27) while three others on the other runway(18/36).,,,,,WOWJust got back from oshkosh-was great and as usual a little poorer. Enjoyed seeing Jim from Flight One and meeting Ron from Eaglesoft for the first time. Ron got me 1/2 ride on the Redbird full motion sim-much appreciated! Was surprised after a great A380 demo (flew at 105 knts. doing tight turns over the runway) to read that it had a bad landing (couldn't see for all the people the landing, though watching the landing and being there in the gusty winds doesn't look so unusual to me at least).. Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Geofa,I envy you. I am going one of these days. Hopefully I will have finished my PPL. I have the Live Cam feed on three PC's in my house and office all day. PS. I just flew the FISK arrival from Ripon to RWY 36 in a Maule in FSX....UTX and GEX made it possible to follow the VFR directions to the T! (download NOTAMS http://www.airventure.org/flying/ )Gary
July 30, 200916 yr Hey, a new camera view for a rainy day.... Blue dot on 18RAnd some guy keeps puttin his phay head in front of it....LOL
July 31, 200916 yr A380 is being started at the end of the runway and looks to be ahead of the planned time now...
July 31, 200916 yr C5M Super Galaxy and C-17 arrived today... one or both will depart Saturday around 1800 Central. Looks like another rainy day for Saturday up to around 1300hrs
August 1, 200916 yr Cool Cam Spot Right Now.... Line Up On Runway 18R listening to 18L ....they shoot em out faster then we did on a Alpha Strike on the Carrier!Listening to the controllers is mesmerizing..You can give allot of credit to the ATC guys in pink for managing the departures and arrivals in such quick order BUT, The Pilots flying into and out of Oshkosh deserve much of the credit. 1. You have to fly your plane 2. listen to ATC without response back 3. look at the traffic ahead, left & right. 4. figure out where you ARE where you will be, and worry about everyone elso around you too...... Definitively no place for a 20hr student PPL.
