Looking at basically the same rig but waiting for Windows 7 so I only have to install the OS once. I do think that I'll need the CL6 DDR3 1600 though. I'm looking at Mushkin Redline http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820226052Are all of the 950's D0 stepping? If not, how can I tell that I am getting that version when purchasing from Newegg or Tiger Direct? Also, what do you think would be the best I could expect from air cooled? I have never had a water cooled rig. Is there a lot of maintenance involved with water cooled?

Hello Jeff950 and 975 are all D0's. Only the 920's have C0/1 and D0 stepping's.If you buy a good air cooler you should be able to reach 4.2 - 4.4GHz. Of course it depends on many factors, like your MoBo, RAM's and the right CPU, since every CPU, even with the same model-number, is different if it comes to overclockability.Greetings
Great Hardware! Do you have the 2000MHz OCZ Blade?Have installed new ASUS GTX-285 Matrix. Will see how it run FSX. Perheaps a bit better than my old GTX-280. Have to sell two GTX-280 for the Matrix Big%20Grin.gifWaiting for your result... :(

Hey RickYou wrote that you have ordered the OCZ 1600 CL7 but the Part number you gave me is for the OCZ 1600 with 8-8-8-24. If the Part number you gave me is correct and you can, I advise to change the memories for this OCZ3B1600LV6GK or Mushkin 998729 or the best Mushkin 998691.If it is not possible to change the mems then that's no big deal, your System will run FSX great anyway!cheers

ah, looking goog! :(I'm keen for your first impressions!

Super Pi is a very cache-bound application. At the 1 million digit mark its entire data set can fit within the L2 cache of most any modern processor. At that point performance becomes about how quickly you can retrieve the information from cache. Intel beats AMD soundly in both these areas, having both larger and faster caches. IOW: Super Pi isn't a great measure of performance anymore, at least not at the 1M level. Try 32M.
