Hidden C&D switch please?

Well, how many times one have to load FSX flight when he wants to start C&D from a different airport:1. load any flight from the main FSX UI (because panel state in JS41 is not loaded correclty when loading from there, ok, that's FSX bug, not PMDG fault)2. load predefined JS41 C&D flight 3. move aircraft to the departure airport. And wait until FSX loads everything again.4. change data&time to the time he wants. FSX reloads scenery again.5. Now you have only to change livery, and fuel using in game menus. So after 5 to 10 minutes depending on your scenery setup and computer speed, and waiting 4 times for FSX to load everything, we can now prepare Jetsream for start. I understand that one of the reasons this aircraft is so well priced is that it doesn't have the huge configuration / panel state / shortcuts system from MD-11 and LDS767, and that's ok for me, but can we have some hidden c&d clickspot or switch that will reset the panel state to the most typical situation when aircraft is parked and pilot enters cockpit?

Something like that would be really helpful!I have a problem with the J41 on that matter:I'm starting FSX with the default Cessna (engines stopped) then load up the Tutorial 1 flight and change the livery and airport. After that I hear a loud sound in the VC which wasn't there after loading the tutorial flight. If I go on and switch the battery and GPU on, I can see in the outside view, that the engines are starting!? (Any help please?)So I think a function like Mike suggested would make things easier.+1sigov810x.png

Agreed, we need a way to import a panel state.Only other thing I can suggest is once you have gone through the above, save the flight with livery, etc. On next start it removes one of the restarts.Mark.

Yep I agree, this feature would be nice.

just install this file and the a/c will load without problem C&D anywhere you choosehttp://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?CatID...&DLID=92282nevertheless, panel state feature would be great, I agree

Upon further reflection I think the best option is just to load up the plane running at the gate and go through the shutdown checklist. Only takes about 30 seconds.Mark.

Does this save things properly cold and dark in the J41 too? Or is this the equivalent of loading up in a default aircraft, shutting down and loading the J41? Cause that supposidly doesn't make it properly cold and dark.

I'd also like to see some way to get a cold and dark setup without having to load a specific flight. Perhaps an option in the shift-2 window? (Similar to what the Aerosoft Cheyenne has).

Are you guys saying that the JS41 panel states (including all switches and the FMS state) are not correctly saved via the FS Save Flight function? I thought that was nearly an industry standard these days.-kyle

Thanks Joe. It is a bit of a brow-raiser. Due to lack of time I've narrowed the list of addon planes I fly these days only to those with a complete Save flight capability. The MD-11 is one of those so I'm surprised it has not been implemented on the JS41.-kyle

I think we have to remember how much this product is before we start expecting it to have the same features as the MD11, I sure the saved panel states feature is far from a trivial task to program for.

Cheers, Andy.

It may be, but I personally consider panel state saving essential as I hardly ever have time for complete flights. I like to shoot approaches or practise departure procedures for the times I fly online.I'd even go as far as saying that full save capability is way higher on my list than say a 100% realistic air conditioning or electrical system.Hopefully PMDG can come up with something for this or future products.-kyle

Level D 767 is the same price with full save and failures. It may be lower price by PMDG standards but not relative to other developers.Mark.

Hi,I must say that I'm a bit surprised by what it is lacking in these regards.I found that there seems to be an initialization period (like the MD-11) but no count-down timer for it. Apparently if you save a situation cold and dark, it will load cold and dark (and it does), but it takes approx. 15 seconds after loading for this state to actually be set, and be ready to go.I usually hear the engine shutdown sounds at least, on initial load.I load the aircraft via my saved state, then move it. Works OK.Despite saving the state this way however, it does not remember the state of the start locks.Best regards,Robin.
