September 8, 200916 yr Just want to preface my post with congrats to PMDG for an incredible addition to the short list of must-have payware aircraft for FSX.I appear to suffer from a manifestation of very thin white lines/edging around a small number of push buttons and gauges in the main cockpit display...for example around the EHSI, and GPWS, G/SLOPE INHIBIT, and the GPWS FLAPS OVRD buttons. As the aircraft moves, these lines appear "alive" in that they will go from solid to dashed and back in such a manner that they become rather distracting at times. I can only describe them as looking something like what one occasionally sees in some panels where minute "gaps" appear allowing the outside view to show...although I am sure that is not the case here.At this point I am just curious if anyone else experiences this or if I am just "special"..... September 8, 200916 yr Arnold,This sounds like an anti-alias issue to me. Best Regards, Kurt "Yoda" Kalbfleisch Pinner, Middx, UK Beta tester for PMDG J41, NGX, and GFO, Flight1 Super King Air B200, Flight1 Cessna Citation Mustang, Flight1 Cessna 182, Flight1 Cessna 177B, Aeroworx B200

September 8, 200916 yr Hi Arnold, one question: Are you using TrackIR? I also use it and I see the same thing, but it disappears, when I turn off TrackIR. It seems that the free head movement leads to problems displaying thin lines. Some sceneries are also affected. Ingo
September 8, 200916 yr It may be an AA issue. I use nHancer and if I set a too high AA setting, black bars would appear momentarily at times and stutter the sim for a second.I would advise, if you are using nHancer, a setting of no more than 4x. I think I've got mine set to Supersampling and 4xS. I've got a 295 GTX. Erik L.
September 8, 200916 yr Hi everybody,Thanks for the input and suggestions. I have played with the AA settings and the symptoms are unaffected regardless of whether I utilize FS AA or nHancer settings and reducing or increasing AA seems to have no impact. I currently am and have been using a combined 8 X S setting.Ingo: While I do have and use TrackIR 5, I find that the problem persists whether I am using it or not.Ryan: Here are two screenshots...they show the lines while they are dashed - the lines "move" while in flight and will become solid and then revert back to dashed. You will also see them on the top of the EHSI bezel.Thanks.Arnold KirbyKelowna BC Canada
September 8, 200916 yr I have this same issue with my GTX 285. I can't find an AA setting that fixes it either.-Alex
September 8, 200916 yr I also have this.My card is 8800 GT.I am going to try the AA (not the twelve step program) 4x, as mine was higher. Chad Dillon aka: Dusty (PAEN)
September 8, 200916 yr OK, I tried different setting all with the 4x (multi, super..) and nothing helped. Some were worse.Super sampling 4x4 seems the best out of all the options. Those lines are still there, just not as pronounced as the other AA options.I wonder what the deal is? Must be an Nhancer setting that could be enhanced?!Edit: I just tried again the SS 4x4 and that cleared it up after all. So for me, the AA was too high and on an unoptimized setting.I am thankful this topic was brought up.I hope this works for you also. Chad Dillon aka: Dusty (PAEN)
September 8, 200916 yr Commercial Member Yeah guys this is normal - I see it with my 4870 too. It's just aliasing - AA doesn't completely eliminate all things like this, especially when you're close to the edge in question and it's moving constantly.
