Switch from Aerosoft's scenery to the UK2000 version (providng you mean EGLL). It did the trick for me. By the way, you didn't provide many details here (addon sceneries, aircraft, PC specs, etc), so you're not making it easy for anyone to help you. Professional request = professional help. :(

Lots has already been written on the OOM error in these forums. The short answer is get a 64-bit OS (XP 64, Vista 64, or Windows 7) and do the LARGEADDRESSAWARE file header mod to your FS9.exe file, and OOMs will be a forgotten memory. There are also /3GB related tweaks for XP 32, and some people get them to work. They can also make your system unstable or even unbootable if you're not careful. And no matter what you do with 32 bit Windows, a sizeable part of your 4GB of RAM is being blocked from use due to hardware memory address mapping (video RAM, other system devices). If you have a 512MB video card, then over 512MB of your system RAM is doing nothing but generating heat.Did I mention going to a 64-bit OS?RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO

This has already been extensively covered in these forums. A quick seach will reveal quite a number of threads on this point.

Performes perfectly. Though I wonder what problems you had with Vista? Anywho, read my signature. To the OP. Without sending you on your way to spend hundreds on a new OS like some do, you should try that old /3GB switch mentioned somewhere in these forums. When I used XP 32b that solved my OOMs for good (I also used 3GB of memory then). But when you are in the market, I do suggest a true 64bit OS to use the 4gb PROPERLY (wait for the release of Windows 7). There are extensive post on this issue. Ofcourse I'd also suggest an overclock, as well.

Chris, although you did not make it clear, I am guessing you are using the Heathrow from SimWings (Aerosoft).Have you encountered an OMM for the first time ever (then no reason to worry) or it's often when you arrive at Heathrow? That would be a very important piece of information to share. If so, then please uninstall it and instal UK2000. The demo version is free.Try flying there and see if it helps. It did for me a few months ago. No more OOMs at EGLL.

Yeah sorry Rafal, its aerosofts Heathrow, its happened twice now, once when i landed and the second time on approach, very annoying! Might have to give uk 2000 a go, got his EGGK and love it but saying that it shouldnt really be happening, should it? :( Chris

Cheers Zach, no major probs with vista apart from a few silly things i cant remember now. I will wait for the official windows 7 and glad to hear fs9 runs with no problems untill then im off to search for the 3gb switch thingy. Thanks for your help mateyChris

You see, Chris, different developers use different techniques in making their addons. Additionally people use different sets of hardware and software. All together it becomes very hard sometimes to spy the reasons of our problems, including OOMs.In your case however one thing which came to my head immediately was the Heathrow scenery. For some simmers (let me repeat: some) big airports made by Simwings (Heathrow, de Gaulle, Barajas) have a tendency to bring OOM errors while approaching them at the end of your flight (what a pain, isn't it). I am such an example. I wasn't able to finish one flight to Heathrow, especially with complex airliners. Later UK2000 released their version of Heathrow. I switched and haven't had an OOM there until now. Please try that. Maybe it will help you or maybe not, but it won't hurt to try. :(

Thanks again Rafal, d/l and will try another flight to Heathrow.Chris

Generally speaking, "Out of Memory" errors occur when your flight takes you through areas with several add-on sceneries and whilst the failure will frequently occur when approaching the final airport that doesn't mean that specific scenery is 100% responsible for the problem. For that reason, I would disagree with the advice to discard one specific paid-for scenery and replace it with another. It may solve your problem today, but maybe not tomorrow. The memory limitation is imposed by the Flight Simulator software and not by the computer, so I support the advice to use the 3gb switch to make more available - I use this myself and have not experienced any "OOM" errors since adopting it despite having many sceneries installed, including the Heathrow scenery you have.Hoping this helps,John
