October 27, 200916 yr The world don't need another 767, and certainly not a default-resembling 'lite' version.Davido.It doesn't have to be needed, just merely wanted.Regards.Ernie.
October 27, 200916 yr It doesn't have to be needed, just merely wanted.Regards.Ernie.I don't remember reading anywhere prior to CLS's announcement that it was wanted... :(Everyone was perfectly happy with either Captainsim's rendition or Level-D's (more so the latter)...On the CLS forums before they closed there was a thread as to what people would have liked CLS to do next and a 767 wasn't mentioned once. October 27, 200916 yr Something for everyone I guess - devs can make whatever they wish, the market will decide if the choice was a wise one. In addition to the 'lite' crowd I guess non vc users will like to update their LDS external models - Albert's work IS brilliant.I'm 99% vc user who likes more systems depth, plus Missi's original LDS model is still more than enough for me so count me out. Regards, Mark
October 27, 200916 yr It looks really great so far! I think that they want to do the 787, but are waiting for the first flight or more info. This is a neat project in the meantime. :( Danny
October 27, 200916 yr I don't remember reading anywhere prior to CLS's announcement that it was wanted... :(Everyone was perfectly happy with either Captainsim's rendition or Level-D's (more so the latter)...I'm sure there are simmers out there for which the LDS 767 for all its greatness was just too sophisticated for them, andthis Lite CLS 767 is going to appeal to them.Regards.Ernie.
October 28, 200916 yr Come on, the FMS is child's play that's why it's standard in Airliners now. In the real world actual pilots never or maybe rarely manually enter in routes, they download them (from the perspective airline's database I guess). How it's done with PMDG and Level-D is not really what's required. Captainsim or any other add-on that allows you to download FS's internal flight plans is more so how it's done in the real world.Level-D and PMDG actually have a system to work the same has the real world FMC. You never really have to manually input the course into the FMC ever. You just go to have a route file made and saved in the PMDG or LevelD navigation folder. You can make one real easily at simroutes.com. Plus PMDG has a lot of preloaded route plans. Before someone asks here's the steps:1. Enter position info 2. Call up FS route and load it in3. Put in weight and cruise altitude4. Put in takeoff flaps setting and hit the Activate buttonOptional: Takeoff runway can be entered in (explanation upon request) same goes for entering landing runway when cleared for approach...It's not that hard...I still know this would be way to hard for my cousin that is a novice flier, but who enjoys using POSKY's planes. There are still things like knowing the CG% for LevelD, worrying about calculating the ZFW, making sure to have the right % for the engines inthe takeoff page, or setting the right trim (This is a strange thing in the PMDG 737). All of those can affect the AP flight at certin points. And god forbid if a novice had to restart the engines. Ctrl+E gets you only so far. There are still a lot of buttons to press to get the warnings away. CS,PMDG, and LevelD still need some light reading in the manuals for a novice pilot I think,I do think the 767 space is getting a little crowded. This 767 offering reminds me of the novice friendly Wilco 777, haha. Derek RogersPC Specs: Intel i7-4790K 4.6GHz : 16GB RAM : GTX 970 4GB
October 28, 200916 yr I do think the 767 space is getting a little crowded. This 767 offering reminds me of the novice friendly Wilco 777, haha.At least with the Wilco 777 you get a working FMC, an ND screen able to show the FMC route, TCAS, and a Weather Radar. I'd bet none of this you'll find in the CLS 767 (if it has any of this it'll be a first for CLS who makes very lite aircraft)...Birds like the 757/767, 777, and 744 need at least what the Wilco 777 offers even if their lite or they may as well be freeware like the Posky 777.
