December 7, 200916 yr http://www.youtube.com/user/PlaneSpottrThis person just joined yesterday and posted some interesting videos on YouTube.-Mikewoooow :-) why he did not tell me that the 747-800 is in Geneva, I would have been there :-)Intresting! Love the wingflex!McDan out
December 7, 200916 yr Is it real though? Any time someone posts it in the PMDG forum it gets deleted. I guess they can't do that in the FSX section here. What do you guys think?I hope it is real. Tired of Streetlights everywhere? Try MSFS DarkStreets today!
December 7, 200916 yr I doubt it's real.PMDG only creates aircraft after getting real flight data, seeing this aircraft hasn't flown yet in real life I'm a bit suspicious, although I'd love to see them do it aswell,With the great strides PMDG have reached with the J41 cockpit I'd love to see a 747-8 All Glass pit.I'm sure the FPS would be much better than the original.

I created 3 separate threads in their forum and all have been removed. If this was a fake why not post a sticky and simply say so? makes me wonder.-Mike Brown Mike Brown
December 7, 200916 yr Yeah that's weird,Well whoever is responsible for the model sure went to a great deal trouble to get the details perfect,In this vid you can see the GE NX2B engine which will be the first engine the real one will fly with.Notice the GE nameplate and the sound baffles at the rear of the engine, just like the real one.http://www.youtube.com/user/PlaneSpottr#p/u/4/FcSvd5HZSfEI would LOVE it if this is what PMDG is up to!!
December 7, 200916 yr Author oh well .... I give up.I have posted several questions in PMDG's forums regarding what this is but they just delete it.I imagine we'll all find out what this is all about soon enough.-Mike Mike Brown

December 7, 200916 yr I think it is real why else would your topics get deleted without a response.... this is awesome! Seems like a good way of showing off something new without having to officially announce it.Andrew
December 7, 200916 yr I'm sure the only thing changed is the external model... still cool though.-Alex
December 8, 200916 yr Commercial Member I'll add my reply that I put on the PMDG forum here. I dont suppose for one minute that this is a 747-800 by Andy Roesch and repainted to look like a PMDG aircraft :( MarkIt is not, unless he has another model I am unaware of.Look at the following image from the video:http://img31.imageshack.us/i/35087135.jpg/You tell me that is Andy's model. - Cody Bergland (Owner, Jaggyroad Films) Our YouTube Channel (featuring over 100 OFFICIAL product videos): https://www.youtube.com/user/valkyrie321 <- CLICK HERE
December 8, 200916 yr Commercial Member I'll post what I put on FlightSimWorld: You know... if this is some kind of cruel joke, they went through a lot of trouble to do it. Even if it were some model (note, not PMDG), then a repaint would at least have to be made. Note the bump mapping as well. This is quality work, not someone's half baked attempt. So, even if it was a practical joke by a repainter they still went through a LOT of trouble to do this. Some things to consider:1) This has PMDG written all over it. Gear painting, textures, bump mapping.2) The user that made the video has at least a basic knowledge of filming in FS.3) The person therefore who made the video has at least a generic and decent knowledge of their way around FS.4) I am aware of no other models that match the images/videos of this plane. None. If there are, someone PLEASE correct me.5) From a filmographer's perspective (mine), this couldn't have been visually faked in post editing without painstaking work. Judging by their camera work in sim, I think this is highly illogical.6) The person that posted these videos ALL contain the 747-800, and they were ALL posted in the last 2 days.7) The YouTube account was created just 2 days ago. That means they have released 7 videos in 2 days. This naturally makes one suspicious of someone either with an agenda against PMDG, or someone who is running a marketing campaign.Because of this, I can only come to 4 conclusions...1) This is leaked from PMDG. Since PMDG may not have approved these images, they are deleting threads until the situation is handled. For all we know it could have been a model that was scrapped from a prior project that someone got a hold of and filmed.... or, it could be the real deal, a package to be.2) This is a viral video, leaked purposely from PMDG.3) If this is not a PMDG model, then it is one we are not aware of and the person that did the repaint has some questions to answer to PMDG.4) ?Guys, I think this might be legit in some form or fashion. It is the only logical conclusion I can get from this. - Cody Bergland (Owner, Jaggyroad Films) Our YouTube Channel (featuring over 100 OFFICIAL product videos): https://www.youtube.com/user/valkyrie321 <- CLICK HERE
December 8, 200916 yr The videos as such are of no interest, only the glimpses of the model. My money is on viral marketing.I'm sure something like this is what they had in mind for the JS41 launch, if Aerosoft hadn't spoiled it for them.
