Flight1 System

Featured Replies

Is it only me, or am I the only one being majorly annoyed by the Flight1's system of reactivating orders every now and then - actually much more than every now and then? Alsmost every time I want to reinstall an addon, I have this prompt "your order has reached maximum validation limit blah blah". I mean, I know there is piracy and all, but c'mon... I bought these products and it's really annoying, when some aircraft doesn't work after and update, then I have to reinstall it from scratch, and then bam... takes you 10min to do everything, since I also have two registered email adresses (I would have to go through the process of changing ALL my addons to the new address??), then different passwords... Really already a pain, actually stopping me from using FS and making me more and more angry as to actually stop this hobby and start something else. Not that I want it, but it's really pushing limits! What's your opinion?

Hi Word Not Allowed!IMO the Flight1 Support is excellent. I've changed email adresses several times and the last time just a couple of weeks ago Works perfectly well. Reactivating a license is also automated - I've had no problems with that ever with Flight1.Visit Flight1 support page here http://www.flight1.com/view.asp?page=serviceExactly what problem do you have when reactivating a license?

My main problem is the annoying dialog to reactivate the order that to my experience comes much too often. My second problem is, that since I started buying Flight1 products, I changed my email address. Having bought many products there, I have little interest in changing each addon to the new address.Passwords, well, they also might differ, also different credit cards. I have a folder system with the info, open it, check the info, but no passwords saved, rather only email addresses and order numbers, then guess the password, which can be one of the five, and then if I can't guess the right combo, password retreival. All very complicated.I would wish there was an option to change ALL my orders to the new email address and new password. That would be an easy cheesy.

Our system relies on ones email address for everything. If you change email addresses, you need to change it in our system. But, this is only if you need to use some of the automated tasks. If we need to email you a password or something, we of course cannot do that to a non-existent email account. Reactivating an order is usually just a 30 second affair if you have your order information and have your email working. The accounts link posted by the user above is likely the most easy thing to do. Plus, if you go into our tickets system we can help you move all your orders to a single account.

Thanks,

Flight One Software

Just yesterday I was thinking about having to revalidate some key files at Flight1. Seems I tend to bump up against the limit every so often. More often than not, it's a reinstall of FSX because I have done something to mess it up and it's generally easier to reinstall than diagnose. Each and every time the Flight1 system handles things without a problem.Recently I went back to find what FS9 products were still listed and I ran into a problem getting keys, as I couldn't recall the password involved with the purchases. Sent a ticket, got a couple of responses back from Flight1 that turned things back on and I was off and running.Developers must do something to protect their IP, that's undeniable. Flight1 strikes a satisfactory medium as far as I'm concerned. I just want to go on record as saying *this time* it's not my fault! A motherboard died and I finally got the new one running right, so there IS a valid reason why I'll be reinstalling all the good stuff from Flight1.

Steve,IMHO, you have the best system out there - that's the reason that the bulk of my add-ons are from Flight1 if at all possible.Regards,DJ

Yes and much better than the PMDG option of having to fork out more money. I recently did a complete reinstall of fs9 on a new system build and was able to download and install all of the flight1 products that I had bought years ago, all latest builds so no patches. Cant get better than that. If something as simple as reinstalling a download is making you want to stop this hobby altogether.... You need a holiday:-)

Here's a tip. Go to F1, recover all Keys and Passwords, back them up and create a text file for all that info and back IT up.It will be much easier the next time you need to do a reinstall or reset a key. :(

Oh don't let me start on THAT one. I have kind of a opinion of *not* saving the passwords on the computer, because what's the point of having one if you save it somewhere. Gotta remember it.

You can request a list of all your orders and passwords at any time via the automated F1 system. It comes as an email which you can delete when you're done with it. Newer products store the data at the F1 site and all you need do is enter your email in the purchase dialog. You can't get much simpler. Seems to me you're making an issue out of nothing.DJ

You could type up everything in a document and then print it out.I really don't think the hackers of the world are scanning your computer looking for your add-on keys and passwords. Pretty sure they are after more valuable pieces of information.

Umm, they are called memory sticks and they are dirt cheap at you local wally world. At any rate, F1 allows easy retrieval and it is users responsibility to do appropriate backups of important info. That's not something F1 can do for you. :(

Actually very good at backing up passwords , and other important details :( Mark

I have everything backed up on an external USB drive and I put that drive away. I also back up to my second internal SATA drive to a partition, this is a redundancy measure.Reinstalling an O/S and FSX and Flight1 software has always gone without a hitch for me. Everything is on the second SATA drive and ready to go when needed. Flight1 install files and all the reinstall numbers saved into Text documents and organized. There is also my USB drive safe and sound in the closet in case my system crashes....Everything is backed up twice. The problem I have with paper and paper filing is paper gets lost....Also it is faster to copy and past those numbers into the install interface. So this is the method of my madness.I like to reinstall my O/S and FSX about every 6 months to keep the O/S in prime performance so I have the reinstall down to about 2 hours now.
