February 12, 201016 yr Commercial Member I've noticed that the program can be a bit random, sometimes starts with a limit of 30, sometimes 60 no matter what I set in the batch. My trick is to just keep windows focus on the FPS limiter DOS window as FSX is starting, thats the only way I get the limiters FPS display to consistently display. Then you can use F11/F12 to set your desired level and off you go.Id also advise on using ctrl+f11 & ctrl+f12 to your frame rate as that key combo will alter the FPSlimiter but will not alter your FSX views :)LatersGizmo http://shadeforfsx.blogspot.com/
February 13, 201016 yr I didn't know at all about FPS_Limiter and i have to say its amazing.thank you very much. My Youtube Channel (P3D/FSX/X-Plane Videos and much more!)
March 22, 201016 yr Just to throw a spanner in the works.I had this installed on my system and it did exactly what it said, limited fsx to 30fps.Had it setup with fsx on unlimited and as far as I was concerned it improved things.Tonight I installed concordeX just for a change I started fsx without fps limiter on and I can safely say I experienced far better performance without it.Micro stutters were almost none existent - smooth flight with fps floating around 25. Personally fps values don't concern me as I am after smoothness but I do use them as a rough guide.Anyway it may work well for others but then again it may be worth trying without?????Tom Tom Why not read some useful tips and tricks - http://forum.avsim.n...22#entry1965722

If I fly a very demanding aircraft such as the Flight1 Mustang, I donot use the fps limiter since the aircraft all by itself keeps my frame rates from going through the roof. Bert
April 12, 201016 yr Hello allI have installed the Frame Rate Limiter to the book...extracted the toll to a new folder under the FSX home folder, istalled Java, ran the GUI and created a .bat file in the same folder. I craeted a short cut to the desktop as well. When double klick the .bat file, desktop or folder does not male a differnce, I see a very short flashing of the DOS window and that's it! FSX does not start! The .bat file entries are:start D:\"Spiele\FSX\FPS_Limiter_0.2\"FPS_Limiter.exe /r:D3D9 /f:30 /x:OFF /l:OFF "D:\Spiele\FSX\fsx.exeI run Win7/64 on a I7-860 at 3,3Ghz and FSX in SP1 and SP2 config. Why doesn't the sim start?thanks a lotUwe

April 12, 201016 yr An important thing to remember is set the limiter frame rate based on the refresh rate of your display. For example the refresh rate for my display is 60Hz so my FPS Limiter is set to 30 FPS, if you have a refresh rate of 59 the limiter cannot be set to 29.5 as a full number must be used.Set your display to its native resolution and match that within FSX, and the limiter will perform well. \Robert Hamlich/
