December 29, 200916 yr I have a new Mac and Santa also dropped off X-Plane 9. I have been using FS for years, so all is new. I asigned the hat on my yoke to pan left/right, but all I get is a 45 degree switch to the right/left and not a continuous pan- how do I fix this to provide a smooth pan? Thanks, Bruce. Look in the options and try a different command, cant remember what its called but its there somewhere. Matthew S
December 29, 200916 yr Make sure you are in a 3D cockpit? The only time I can think that it jumps to a 45 degree view is in the 2D cockpits.

December 29, 200916 yr Author Yes good point... thats probably it!Thanks, that was it- still getting used to this sim after countless years with FS :)I fly the C172S in real life and note that the X-Plane version that comes with the sim is way too slippery, I have trouble slowing it down without the use of flaps- my next quest will be to see if I can change that variable....Thanks, Bruce. December 30, 200916 yr For planes with 3D cockpits I press Ctrl-O to get to the 3D cockpit then the Hat-switch works just as is it does in FSX. If you want to make yourself dizzy you can slide your mouse all around and the panning is very fast. Keith Guillory

To change the airframe drag, you'd need to dig deep into PlaneMaker. There are some modified versions of that plane out there, however - though I don't know if they're any better. Is there a way to adjust the pan speed of the Hat control? Not directly, but there are fast versions of all the pan controls you can assign to your hat switch. Look at the advanced button setup in the joystick options.Judith

January 8, 201115 yr Commercial Member How can I pan up and down in the chase, spot or circle views? I can pan left and right OK but do not see any way to pan up/dn. Regards,Bob.Pressing "A" takes you to chase view. When in that view and if you wish to pan around, press the arrow keys to move around. PGE UP and PGE DOWN move you towards the plane and away from the plane (respectively) and "+" and "-" zoom in and out.

Regards, Bob.Click on Settings in the top menu and select Joystick and key settings. There is a basic settings page and there is also a more detailed button and key setting paged. EVERYTHING is on these 2 pages. Simply position the hat switch, x plane recognizes it, then select the bullet point for the view.
