January 11, 201016 yr Umm, Vertical Profile is a unique feature of Honeywell Primus Systems and has been a part of our Honeywell equipped products dating all the way back to our CX1.0 which is now over six years old. What Ryan is referring to is the improved implimentation of Vertical Profile as it relates to the full featured FMS/Altitude Restrictions/Difficult Approaches capability as included in CX2.0. :(

Because of the mountainous terrain, these approaches have VERY tight vertical, lateral and speed constraints, and require "special aircrew and aircraft authorization".I can confirm that the ES CX 2.0 does indeed fly them beautifully. The charts for the approaches can be downloaded at airnav.com, flightaware.com or several other sites. When I tested the PSP approaches, I constructed them manually in the FMS.Jim Barrett Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. There is a significant difference between a manually entered waypoint and a pre-defined SID/STAR/IAP waypoint from an ARINC database.UPDATEI just reviewed that approach. The Citation X is not certified to fly those. :( Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
January 11, 201016 yr Andre and others, please do not misunderstand. We are fully aware of users desire for well implimented VC's and the various benefits as touted. We simply do not understand the obsession with VC's as they are only one part of what makes an entire package desirable. :( Ron lol I didn't say the VC isn't ok I only stated that it can be per simmer different what for him or her is the immersion factor ;-)It seems for most it's a combination of systems and then the cockpit itself ;-)Otherwise FS was still a wireframe with gauges ;-)Try a real world simulator for testing pilot skills you only see the panel and gauges that's all and a computer is registering your performance lol...Ps... I'm obsessed about all things related to aviation lolCheers,Andr André

January 11, 201016 yr I have a real problem with the CX V2. I have been flying the CX V1 and am perfectly happy with it, so my problem is finding a reason to get the new version! I want it, I just don't know why I want it :(

I want it, I just don't know why I want it :(CX 2.0 came to be offered based on huge numbers of requests by CX1.0 owners. At that point they requested improved Avionics and fully functional FMS with accurate SID/STAR/IAP routines using Navigraph updatable databases. That is why CX2.0 exists and may be related to why you've expressed an interest in owning it. :(

The problem is, I used to have 2 different CX's, the 'other' one lasted one flight then got towed to the back of the hanger where it resides to this day. I'm not a SID/STAR kinda guy and I like V1, it's like a favorite pair of jeans or a well used recliner, it just fits! It's my plane of choice when I want 'high and fast'.Do I need a new type rating update for V2? I'm not sure I'm up to that since V1 is sooooooo darn comfortable! :(
January 12, 201016 yr It is very interesting reading this back and forth. I have however just a few simple questions. I have all of the Eaglesoft offerings short of this "Citation X 2.0".I have been flying the FS9 version updated for FSX "which still has issues, for me". I want to buy the 2.0 version, but am concerned that I may not be able to fly it.I am a simple Computer Pilot with simple tastes and requirements for enjoyment. I have no desire to be a real or virtual "Professional Pilot", so here are my questions:1. Do I understand correctly that the exterior model is Full FSX with Bump Map, Dynamic Shine and Dynamic Shadowing?2. Is the aircraft flyable without the "Full Purchased Version of FSUIPC"?3. Can I start a flight with the Citation X 2.0 without having to go through all pre-startup proceedures.....in other words can I just start flying as with previous Eaglesoft Citations.I know that a lot here will see me as pitiful and that is ok. :( I really love the Citation X and want the best version of it that I can get. By the way, I just purchased the PMDG JS41 and love it. I have no problems flying it.Thanks in advance.

You have the option of loading with engines running or from Cold N Dark. Note: You still must align the IRS System whickes about 20 Seconds.CX 2.0 may be hand flown and you may ignore the more complex SID/STAR/IAP routines and fly FS Based flight plans if you choose. The advanced elements will still be present, you simply won't be using them by choice. :(I know, I know!!! January 12, 201016 yr Thank You Ron,For your quick response and the information that has "Sealed the Deal" for me. I know that I will not be able to appreciate all the hard work you guys have put into the systems, but know that I will be smiling all the way down the runway and rotating into the Wild Blue. :( I wish that I were more patient and mentally prepared to really Dig-In. I guess that is why I did not become a Real World Pilot. :(
