RE: New PMDG 747 FSX 8i ModelContrary to what was expected, it turns out the new 8i mod released by PMDG DOES in fact alter the panel.cfg files for the PMDG 747 FSX.So I just requested a copy of the 8i from PMDG.As soon as I get it, I'll release updated FS2Crew version panel.cfgs for the 8i model. As it stands, the current FS2Crew panel.cfgs cause issues with the 8i model.Best,

Well i have to say that i reinstalled FS2CREW for the PMDG 747 400X, and it now works fine with the new PMDG 747-8i, and when i use the config manager, and switch back to 747-400X, it works fine there as well

Will the patch fix the probelm with the 2D cockpit switches not working? It seems that every time I install the PMDG 747-8 and start FS2crew the switches stop working in the 2D cockpit of both the 747-4 and the 474-8. Thanks,Scott Bullock

Brian, In the read me with the download it states After installing these panel.cfg files, do NOT use the FS2Crew Start Center to manage your PMDG 747 panel.cfg files. If you need to manage your PMDG 747 panel.cfg files, do it manually. What does this mean : do it manually?ThanksAndrew Dixon

Hi Andrew,It means that if you want to swap panel.cfg files for the PMDG 747 after installing the 800 mod (ie., swap between FS2Crew and non-FS2Crew version), you should do so by drilling down into the FSX folder and handling the PMDG 747 panel.cfg files directly. The Start Center was not designed to handle the PMDG 747-800 models.Best,

Hi Brian, so when I am using the 747-8i with FS2 Crew I need to change the panel.cfg files with the 747-8i update panel.cfg files supplied by yourself. If then I choose to fly without FS2 Crew, I swap the original panel files back. Is that correct?Andrew Dixon

Hi Andrew,Well, if you want to fly without FS2Crew, you do not need to restore the panel.cfgs.All you need to do is not open the FS2Crew panels. Leave them closed. But if you want FS2Crew totally gone, you'd need to manually swap the panel.cfgs with the original version that does *not* have FS2Crew entries on them. But as mentioned, that's hardly necessary. Just don't open the FS2Crew main panel and FS2Crew won't load.Best,

Hello Bryan,Following on from this thread, I also have the problem that was mentioned earlier of the 747-8i 2D panel switches not working immediately after activating FS2Crew. I installed the update from your website 2 days ago and run the sim under Windows 7. I have no other issues. Any suggestions would be welcomed as I do enjoy your product. Thanks,Keith Jackson

Hello,All of the switches in the 2D panel stop working immediately after I activate FS2Crew. And yes, the instructions regarding the update were clear and simple...I followed the installation protocol properly. I even restored the original panel.cfgs and went through the installation again with the same result, unfortunately.Keith Jackson

Hi Keith,I'm in the 747 8i right now. I just activated FS2Crew, but I can still open all the 747 panel switches,ss like OVHD, F/O, THR, etc.So I'm not sure what's happening in your case.Try this:Restore the GaugeSound.dll via the FS2Crew Start Center...
