February 27, 201016 yr Ok, so I know that we originally had a single FS9 and FSX forum that was subsequently broken out into the separate FS9/FSX forums we have today. I happen to love the separate forums and would not want to see that change at all... :( With that being said, there are also a lot of add-ons that are still being released for both sims... AES, ASE, EGCC, EHAM all within the past couple of weeks to name a few. I think it might be cool to have an additional forum for some add-ons or topics that cover both sims. This way, putz's :( like me don't have to create the same exact topic in both forums because it is applicable to both sims. I also think it would be nice for there to be a section of the forums that brings FS9 users and FSX users together to share in common releases we can all be excited about potentially leading to a bit more camaraderie opposed to the sharp and often tenacious interaction that we have today.Perhaps this is not feasible but I think with all the things we have dividing FS users today it would be nice to have a little area that brought us a little closer :( Just my .02 for the day but in the words of the immortal Mr Rogers:Would you be my, could you be my won't you be my neighbor B) PaulPS...Going to post this in the FS9 forums too B) Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk

February 27, 201016 yr Author What's FS9 :( JK Paul. Sounds like a good idea to me.Wow so in less than 30 minutes they managed to bump this out of the FSX forum into Hangar Chat which by the Avsim description is for:This forum is for the discussion of real world aviation topics and any other topics not covered in other forums. Please make sure that your topic isn't covered in another forum before posting herePersonally I think this would have been much better served where it was originally posted with a lot more visibility and potential for open discussion amongst simmers but it is the Mods call. I also don't think this is anything to do with real world aviation or not capable of being covered in another forum. Thanks BTW Ryan, Hope you are well.-P Have a Wonderful Day -Paul Solk
February 27, 201016 yr Hi Paul,I can't comment on the thread being moved.......don't know anything about that. But as for the additional forum, you could be on to something. Moderators don't make new forums though. For that you would need to ask Tom. It would add to our workload, but I don't mind if it means making the forums better. I think the best way to get the ball rolling is to run a user poll and see what kind of support you get for the idea. That would also give people an opportunity to suggest reasons why it might not be a good idea. If it goes over well, send Tom a PM and see if he'd be interested. I can think of a number of reasons why it probably would and would not be a good idea to add a new forum for FS9/FSX products, but I'll reserve my opinion for now. Jeremy "rightseater" Fletcher
February 27, 201016 yr Great suggestion. Three of my favourite add-ons are FS9/FSX compatible: Multi-Crew Experience, Active Sky Evolution (thank you HiFi) and Instant Scenery. I would be nice to have a forum where FS9 and FSX users could find a little more common ground. "Even Ozzy's wagging his tail again. Liam who?"
February 27, 201016 yr Personally, I think the idea has very good merit. I am concerned however that it could turn into a battleground for the FS9 vs FSX or FSX vs FS9, if you prefer. You know the, the people that bring their flamethrowers and stirring spoons to the forums and just can't behave when it comes to allowing others to have a different opinion or tastes. On the other hand it might actually beneficial, as we would hope. Kind of like setting to fighting children across the table from each in a no blink contest until they break out laughing and forget the fight. IMHO a little more harmony and camaraderie can only help this hobby not hurt it. So if Tom likes the idea, . . . . .why not give it a try? :( Best regards to all,Mel
