February 28, 201016 yr I have a question on this review. It states that the FADEC functionality is modeled but it never really says how it is modeled. I know how it works in real life but am unsure what it means in this particular sim. Thanks.John

Thanks.JohnIf you have a registered copy of FSUIPC installed, the throttle in this airplane moves in specific increments, with indicated settingsfor T/O, Climb, and Cruise. As long as you move the throttle to these positions, the FADEC controller does everything else. For the descent, you lower the throttle below the Cruise position and hand manage it until the landing. March 1, 201016 yr Just an aspect, the FADEC will calculate the N1 based on temp, altitude. Try to google an AOM and check the related chapter, as far as I my 30 flights tell me, this feature is modeled quite well. Beside, 2 issues are not mentioned in the review. Performance calculation issue. Flight Planning view mode. <REMOVED BY MOD>MAX IMAGE SIZE 1024 X 768One more, if you are familiar with CX from PIC, you will find the FMS missing some features, such as the ALTN Airport input. And with SID has altitude restriction, the Vertical profile calculation sometime will behave strange. And, the customer support is not friendly and professionally. Be prepared. March 1, 201016 yr HelloUnlike Wilco I would bet money on Eaglesoft fixing their CX, thats support in my book.
March 2, 201016 yr That's what I thought, nice. Now I just need a throttle with detents.Actually, I use the throttle on my CH yoke which has no detents.Just move the throttle all the way up for T/O and then a little bit back, until the indication on the panelswitches from T/O to Climb, and later the same thing, lower the throttle until the indicator goes to CRS forthe cruise setting. March 3, 201016 yr That's what I thought, nice. Now I just need a throttle with detents.Umm, the detents are included in our FADEC implimentation. No need for Hardware Detents. :( To the other poster. We specifically stated that Alternate Airports are not supported based on real world CX Pilot consultation when we discovered that they have never used the feature at all.The appearance of the Verticle Profile in some instances is a known issue which is being addressed but you should know that it visual only and has no effect on actual VNAV performance at all.If you wish to engage in a side by side comparison of the Wilco/FT CX in an Eaglesoft CX V2.0 thread perhaps you might check with the mods to see if that is appropriate here.As to customer service, we are as friendly to users as they are to us. We actually have more satisfied customer service folks than those few who've an agenda against our customer service. :(Interesting discussion on customer service here: http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=276473
March 5, 201016 yr Commercial Member The "performance calc" issue is that when you utilize a DIR TO during the climb... the TOC diamond doesn't update correctly. Ed Wilson Mindstar AviationMy Playland - I69
