March 22, 201016 yr I guess I owe you an apology.......When I started my response to the OP's question, you had not yet posted. I was interrupted during the composition of my reply (for over ten minutes) thus it ended up being posted "after" your response.Sorry you feel my responses are sometimes "tiresome" - I shall strive for brevity in the future. :(Opa, don't change a thing you've been doing. March 22, 201016 yr Which thread are you referring to, because I have never posted in the Ray Smith thread. Not sure how it could refer to this FSM thread, although to be honest, I have lost track. :(I was not a "repeat" of your post regarding Ray Smith (my mistake) it was a "repeat" a few minutes later of another simmers post. You just linked to the thread in question in your other response.Sorry for the confusion.
March 22, 201016 yr Still not following. Ray Smith topic posted: Mar 15 2010, 04:33 AM. Answered: Mar 15 2010, 05:12 AM. Your post: Mar 15 2010, 01:18 PM. Look, it happens when you've got multiple people posting that some of those posts will say the same thing, that's not a problem. I just thought it was curious that you'd come along and post the same thing eight hours later.:( Mike...

Old age is creeping (running) up again it seems.
March 23, 201016 yr An alternative is available over at FlightSim.com: "fsmgr.zip".A big thank you Mike for this link, none of the others worked for me but this does,I am now up and running with updated FMS.Many thanks again,Eddie.
March 28, 201016 yr Thanks to everyone for posting info on this tool. It works very well, with the applied patch. :(
March 28, 201016 yr Patch will not work for me."A required privelege is not held by the by the client." Then it shuts down. FSM is installed on C drive, the patch resides within the same folder as FSM.Trying to contact a member who has an update version past 2.8. Guess I'll just have to Google more. Was nice to write a poison pill into the program. Makes it convenient when trying to run it. Must work for Microsloth.

XP, Vista or Win7 ?Sounds like a "permissions" issue if one of the latter - should be easy to work around.
March 28, 201016 yr It's Vista. Sorry about that. Forgot to mention in post. Apparently 2.8.5 was last build for FSM.
March 28, 201016 yr It's Vista. Sorry about that. Forgot to mention in post. Apparently 2.8.5 was last build for FSM.Have you tried it with UAC (User Account Control) turned off?And of course running everything as "Adminstrator".

XP, Vista or Win7 ?Sounds like a "permissions" issue if one of the latter - should be easy to work around.Went in and granted full permissions to every program I could find within the FSM folder. No luck. Same message.I'll just uninstall this and find another program that works. Thanks anyways!
March 28, 201016 yr When run as administrator (.bat file through shortcut), it says that it cannot locate the file FlightSimManager.exe and to be sure the name and patch are correct.Hmmm...yeah, name is correct. It's sitting right next to you in the same file. Hmmm...

If, for example, your computer is in Spanish, the default location would be C:\Archivos de programa\RanaInside\FlightSimManager and the patch would not work. If I install it in "Program Files" instead of "Archivos de programa" (or whatever your non-English-OS default program location is), the patch works flawlessly. This happens only in XP (AFAIK), Vista and 7 don't have this problem (because the Program Files folder is always named "Program Files").Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel Best regards,Luis Hernández Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D (with SMT off and CO -50 mV), 2x16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia RTX 5060Ti 16GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 2x1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), ID-Cooling SE-224-XTS air cooler, Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@120-144 Hz (G-sync compatible), Windows 11.
