March 26, 201016 yr ORBX's method is the way to go... the problem is the development resources it takes. The only reason I haven't purchased PNW myself (or their AU offerings) is because I don't like how it only covers such a relatively small area. Don't get me wrong, I understand there's LOTS to see in their products, I just don't like the idea that all those thousands of square miles of the rest of the globe would look like garbage once you got used to the wonderful ORBX areas... then I wouldn't want to fly anywhere else, and that's kind of limiting.I'm still miffed that MS axed the Aces team. The civilian flight sim market is unlikely to produce anything except further X-Plane updates (which still has a long way to go in my book) and FSX addons, which can only go so far with such a flawed and outdated engine./rant

True it might be more along the lines of Fly! or ProPilot than FSX as far as limitations go, but they're definitely working on one.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Surely it must be better to have a small area available as high detail scenery than nothing at all? The rest of the world will still be there in all its generic glory for you to enjoy even after you've bought PNW... and if you don't buy PNW, the flightsim world will still look like garbage, including the pacific nw...If you fly small prop airplanes only, the scenery area is still large enough to offer you probably a year worth of exploring, by which time they should have finished at least another scenery area. If you fly faster airplanes there's no point in getting the scenery anyway because you'll be flying too fast and at too high an altitude to appreciate all the little details of the scenery. -

March 27, 201016 yr Yes i own ORBX australia and was impressed, but it doesnt compare with photo scenery , i am afraid photo scenery has spoilt me anything else looks ,and is ,artificial . That just goes to show that it is true, the grass is always greener on the other side.Stephen

March 29, 201016 yr hi,A picture is worth a million words:Left: Simsavvy, right: enhanced generic ground textures My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
March 29, 201016 yr ahahahahha agreed, pretty good way of looking at it. I've tried 2 Megascenerys and I'm not impressed.Dallas, Tx is not a brown desert. It doesn't snow in Oakland, Ca.I like lot's of autogen and it just doesn't look right in photoscenery.
March 29, 201016 yr I don't think there's any one BETTER solution, it depends on your flyingOrbx is great for low to medium altitude flying, but get too high and the Landclass borders show up and the immersion is lostPhotoscenery over varied terrain is awesome, Tileproxy, Megascenery, Bluesky whateverIt all depends on what/how you fly.I Love Orbx stuff, but love my Megascenery as well esp Socal and Dallas. Tileproxy is the a great solution for high res photoscenery for South Florida(where I live and fly IRL)It's nice to have choice...
