March 28, 201016 yr before I begin, I want to say that im am pretty certain that this has been discussed however I cannot find it, so if it has been reapeated many times please mods feel free to delete.I was just curious as to what the state of fs9 is, i mean as the developers are concerned. I guess what i am looking for is there anything that is being developed for fs9 in the near future that we can get excited about, other than airsimmer. Or is it pretty much a dying thing, and should i just be content with my current add-ons(which i am more than content). I would just like to see something that can get me all excited for. I havent purchased anything for fs9 in a long while, as I have most high end paywares. Ill confess, my credit card is no burning a hole in my pocket, and i want to put it in action in the near future :( Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
March 28, 201016 yr LVL-D is developing a 757. PMDG is making a NG2.0, a Dash-8, and a 777 in the upcoming year. Oh, sorry, the above are for FSX only. :( Thank God Flytampa is reporting their sales to be 50% FS2004 and 50% FSX. I would be really upset if they gave up FS2004 devel. Danny
March 28, 201016 yr is it pretty much a dying thingNot at all and maybe even quite the opposite. :( For example Aerosoft seemed to be withdrawing from making FS9 sceneries but now - what is going to come in the following months is incredible. So if you like new sceneries, you'll get airports like:- Munich- Stuttgart- Barcelona- Gibraltar- Antalya- Faro- Kos- Tenerife (and other Canary islands)- Anchorage- FairbanksMore here: http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showforum=103
March 28, 201016 yr You know, I like FS9. I like FS9 because there are a lot of old school guys like Shez and Jon Loney that have made so much free scenery for it that you could spend the rest of your life flying to places that you've always wanted to. I mean, look at the stuff that Flight Ontario has done, Frame Rate Friendly Studios, Mach1. Now there's a labor of love. I think FS9 rocks and it doesn't matter whether large payware sceneries are available or not. At least that's what I think.Mark
March 28, 201016 yr Author ya, I agree there is some pretty amazing free stuff out there. I would like to see some more high end payware aircraft for fs9, but it just doesnt seem like it is going to happen, scenery on the other hand looks to be a diffrent thing. Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.
March 29, 201016 yr FRF Studio will make or update a scenery a month for FS9 until we are all dead.... or at least until everyone can afford a computer strong enough to run the current version of FS...

I would be really upset if they gave up FS2004 devel. It's much easier to maintain compatibility with scenery then it is complex addon aircraft, so I think it more likely developers, such as Fly Tampa and others that already produce for FS2004 and FSX will continue to maintain compatibility. Complex aircraft on the other hand requires separate programming for system gauges and DLL modules, those will most likely transition to an FSX only platform in the future. (Although I'm sure they'll be 1 or 2 hold outs til the very end!) Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d

March 29, 201016 yr It would be great :( if someone would make a program like http://www.flightsimtools.com/adconvx/ they have made for FSX that would convert FSX files to be used in fs2004 :( .I am sure it would sell many copies... :(
