the tweak can work well for you too for what I know. Do you guys have frames locked? that might as well help. If the ingame frame locker doesnt, try an external like this one:http://www.caveofdistraction.com/2009/07/2...d-other-titles/
Well see that's the thing - I'm currently using nHancer with my 8800GT 512mb card and also the Frame Rate Limiter .bat file as per the thread found here on avsim.I bet adding these settings would screw that up?? But if they are better than this combination OR can be used with these two applications than maybe I'll try it. Just wanted to know if anyone with a slower system is running nhancer and the fps limiter .bat file?

I'm using the same card and FPSLimiter. I tried the performance tweaks from this thread yesterday, and I did get some improvement with the A2A Cub and PNW - I was able to run FPSLimiter at a higher FPS setting without stutters etc - but loading a more complex airplane caused the video driver to crash, maybe because I was still running 8xS anti-aliasing (via nHancer).

Yes this is what I'm worried about hehe. What I've gathered from the threads is that if you have a beefy video card (read GTX260 and up or Radeon 58xx) these tweaks will benefit you - almost as if they place more load on your GPU (and take some off the CPU). Since mine isn't really that awesome these days I figure the tweaks won't help me.

I thought that the correct syntax was[bufferPools]PoolSize=xWhere x is the poolsize you want to use (e.g. 5000000 or 10000000)I've never come across "usepools' before.I have recently overcome a stutter porblem by using Poolsize=10000000)I only have a 512 videocard (9800GTX) but it seems to have had an effect.IAN

Is this tweak only for Windows 7, or will it also improve Windows XP ? I looked to see if any of you responders were using XP, but couldn't find any.Dave Hinson
Not sure about the differences Dave. When you think about it the variables are endless. My theory is that a 4 year old system (with XP) would probably run best un-tweaked but that is an unqualified remark. My system is leading (not cutting) edge but pretty punchy at 4.2ghz. It is all about bandwidth.jja
Careful. The complete address space of Windows 32 is 4GB, regardless of the amount of physical memory installed. Some system devices, such as the graphics card, use a portion of that space. So if you install 4GB of physical memory, some of that will not be available - it will be "hidden" by those system devices. As a rule of thumb, any memory you install up to 3GB will be fully available. If you install 4GB of memory, a portion of that last GB may also be available - this depends mostly on how much memory is on your graphics card (with more memory on the card, less system memory will be available).
My 4GB 32 bit XP system shows 3.25GB of RAM in the system properties screen.

I have have an aging Core2 Extreme laptop (though a good one) that I run FSX on. I applied bojote's fix to the cfg and I will tell you--I have not seen it ever run this smoothly. My list of addon's is listed in my sig so it is certainly not the default. I even flew my CS 757 from FSDT's KFLL to Imaginesim's KATL in Rex2 clouds off of ASE weather and it was pegged at 25-30FPS. UT2 traffic was set at 65%.I can't wait to build the i7 rig I was planning this summer.
