Featured Replies

I just downloaded it with no problems at all. that was about 10 minutes ago.

 Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.

Downloaded it Saturday morning at about 1:00AM eastern time. Looks great!

Good news on the release, Al. Looks like your server is getting hammered right now, but I hope to download it tomorrow. :(

That's exactly what's happening. It's a shared hosting account, so bandwidth isn't what we'd like it to be. The server is working fine, I just checked it, it just can't keep up with the demand of Al's fine scenery. Please be patient, and keep trying. Later in the evening might be a better time. I guess it's time to look for a new hosting company. The boss isn't gonna like this! :(
I will try again later. After about 5 minutes of waiting I was able to download it, but only 2% of the file was downloaded then it timed out and was automatically canceled.
Just download it from Avsim's or Flightsim's file section. :(

Ive tried to make the initial EXE frame rate friendly for slow machines. If ones with older P4s are still finding the EXE slow please let me know and Id do my best to upload a lite version.Other than that I would really love to here some responce to the scenery. Helps me to know what to look for in future sceneries. Thanks Al Sibley Flight Ontario

I have a question. Can the taxi textures go into the Deer Lake texture folder instead of the main FS9 texture folder? I ask because I have REX and that has taxiway textures taht get replaced every time you ramdonize the REX textures.

Excellent work Al - I am using it with the default scenery and other than some lake elevations nearby, the general enhancement is stunning. Even with the full package installed on my modest machine it is very FR friendly.I have discovered that a file you recommend - provincialairlines-spr-canada-su06.zip - is unfortunately one the "missing" files at Avsim and I have not been able to locate it elsewhere.Any ideas?

One more question. In the read me it has recomendations for the terrain in the FS9 cfg file. The settings recomended areTERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.5TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=9TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21What do these setting do? (I already had the TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21 before I installed this scenery)

quoting from Al's instructions:*Note - This works well for clear, extended ground textures.Changing the TMVL (Terrain_Max_Vertex_Level) to 21 from 19 will give you a good quality DEM (Digital Elevation Model) for this region.end quoteSimilar settings work well on my machine but your mileage may vary. It is worth experimenting with in my opinion.

Honestly I dont think so. If you are using REX than don't bother installing them. The tarmac texture look much better than any Ive seen yet. All out there seem to dark. unrealistic.I made this one faded like a year old asphalt. All ya can do is try them.I also use REX2 but I continue to use these textures. Just my choice thats all.Al

I saw that, but I am not sure what "clear, extended ground textures" mean.

I tried it and it don't work. But it's ok cause I can keep the textures saved and use them when I am at the airport or use them like another REX2 texture set.
