I did my best making sure they are all compatible but i know i must have missed something.THANKSEDIT: i almost forgot about cooling. what can i do for cooling? (please no jokes. i know there are a million out there but lets keep this at a professional level)
May 20, 201016 yr Yes your motherboard will fit all those cases. The form factor of your chosen motherboard is 'ATX' and all those cases are ATX ones.Al Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
May 20, 201016 yr OK...You'll need some different RAM. Your proposed mobo runs triple-channel DDR3, whereas the set you propose is only dual-channel.Your mobo is ATX form-factor, and each of the cases you suggest are midi-ATX, so it'll fit each of them.My big question is the video-card. A 4650 seems decidedly low-spec compared to the other components. For an extra $100, you'd get something along the lines of a 5770. You should, however, ensure that your case has enough room for the bigger video card. Some midi-ATX cases (like, for eg, the Thermaltake Soprano - a bitter experience there) simply don't have the space.Lastly, for cooling: Noctua NH-U12P or a Corsair Hydro H-50. I've had both, and would plump for the latter.Happy building.Jeff Jeff Hunter
May 20, 201016 yr For cooling have you looked at a cooler master v8? if interested you should check out some reviews such as this: http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/cm_v8/4.htm For cases I'd go with the cooler master HAF 922
May 20, 201016 yr For air cooling the best out there now is the Noctura NH-D14 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835608018and right behind that is the Venomous Xhttp://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835109030You will need to make sure that your memory will fit under the NH-D14 before you buy it.
May 20, 201016 yr Yeah, you don't want that video card... it's really low end.... You want the GPU to match the rest of the system (once you get the DDR3 RAM squared away)You want something like this:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130552Or if that's too pricey:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130433ATI alternative:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814161330 | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
May 20, 201016 yr ryan if i wanted an expensive video card id get the ATI 5870. Besides yes Once RAM is fixed i will upgrade the video card.
May 20, 201016 yr The above mentioned coolers are excellent. If you want to spend less for decent performance the Coolermaster Hyper 212+ is recommended.Definately get a triple channel DDR3 kit for the X58 mobo as mentioned; dual channel for an X58 is a waste of capability. If you can afford it, get cas 6 or 7 1600 DDR3 triple channel kits. XMP is not necessary if you know how to set RAM setting in your bios.Just another video card option:http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_...duct_id=0309737This is were I got my gtx 275; I had no problems at all.Enjoy, CPU: AMD 9800X3D PBO MB +200 CO -25| Motherboard: MSI MAG X870e Tomahawk WiFi | GPU: MSI RTX 5090 Ventus 3X OC | RAM: G.Skill 2x32GB DDR5 6000 cas 30 | M.2 SSDs: Samsung 990 EVO Plus 2T, WD Black SN750 M.2 1T | Hard Drive: WD Black HDD 6T 7200 | Optical Drive: LG Bluray writer, internal | Cooling: Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO | Case: Fractal Design Focus G | PSU: NZXT C1200 1200W Win 11 Pro 64|HP Reverb G2 revised VR HMD|Asus 25" IPS 2K 60Hz monitor|Saitek X52 Pro & Peddles|TIR 5 (now retired)

With this case i can put one on the side and back. What cooling options are compatible with this case?I don't understand why id change the RAM i selected. its fine and compatible. its DDR3 1600. whats wrong with that?
May 21, 201016 yr I don't understand why id change the RAM i selected. its fine and compatible. its DDR3 1600. whats wrong with that? The motherboard and processor you have selected utilize triple channel memory. To take advantage of this, you need to purchase three matched 2GB modules = 6GB ram or three matched 1GB modules = 3GB. Go with the 6GB with 7 or less CAS. Art
May 21, 201016 yr um..... so i need to get 3 1gb Sticks? DDR3 of course. i dont want to get 3 2gb sticks as im using Windows Vista 32 bit. I don't need tri-channel so switched back to my last RAM setting.
May 21, 201016 yr Consider this: "a computer that runs Flight Sim X with a lot of add-ons well" is essentially a "fancy major gaming computer". Depending on your expectations of what "well" means, you may be either be very happy or very disappointed with that AMD system. The system in my sig cost me just a little over $1100 (this includes win7, a new case, HD and DVDW; sound card was from my previous build). At my OC and desired FSX slider settings, IMO it barely makes your criteria and at times fails to. And performance wise, it's somewhat above the AMD system you spec'ed. Just a heads up. May 21, 201016 yr Comments: I reduced somethings as i am not looking for some fancy major gaming computer. all i want is a computer that runs Flight Sim X with a lot of add-ons well. I don't need tri-channel so switched back to my last RAM setting. If you don't want tri-channel memory, you might consider changing to a P55 chipset motherboard and a LGA 1156 processor with dual-channel memory. As already stated, it takes a "fancy major gaming computer" to "run Flight Sim X with a lot of add-ons well". Art
