PMDG Refund policy?

Featured Replies

Anyone know if PMDG has a refund policy?I'm thinking about buying the J41 (not my first time thinking about it lol) but I wondered if they have some sort of refund policy like F1.The reason is because my system isn't the fastest out there and while it looks really nice I want to be able to have at least 25 fps in rural areas. I can run the F1 mustang at about 23-26 where I normally fly. The ES Citation 21-24 and the RealAir Duke 25-28. If it will fall somewhere in these ranges I will purchase it.On a related note - it's too bad the "Petraeus Index" went with the wind - that was a great research tool and I think they were really onto something - set default CRJ VC as 1.00 and every product is a ratio to that based on the user's experience.

What have you done to get that out of the Mustang ?? I get that in the teens, ES Citation normally about 25-30 and the Duke at 30 !!!G

Hi, I've commented out the copilot PFD screen. I also don't turn on the standby instruments (give me a bit of a drop for some reason), and I don't run the MFD on terrain mode.Hmmm, maybe I will hope for a Boxed version at Best Buy ;)An another note, I might just start saving for this beautiful Diamond Katana in the works:http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?sh...=35231&st=0

Even if you get a boxed version of the JS41 at best buy, will they let you return it after the box is opened? Most places that I know of there policy is if its software and you opened it you bought it. no refunds.

No what I meant was that it would probably be cheaper. I'm only basing this conclusion on the fact that their 747 was only 30 bucks at BB, I think its 80 off their website

Ryan, the J41 has a config manager that lets you tayor the plane to suit the FPS you need. You can turn off the CRT screens on the co-pilot side which will save you a lot of FPS or visa-versa if you fly from the co-pilot side you can turn off the capt side CRTs. Also you can adjust the refresh rate of the guages and a few other options which will help you get more performance.I bought this plane a few months ago and while its a really neat plane, performs well and looks great, I find I dont fly it very often, mostly just because of the slower cruise speed compared to a jet. When I do fly it, I use it more like a really expensive GA aircraft. I'm not saying I wish I could get a refund, but I just dont fly it as much as I though I would, but its a really cool plane with a lot of neat features and lighting effects for the VC, plus rain drops and icing effects. Plus after you do one or two tutorial flights you will have it down pat. The FMC is really easy to program and everything works as advertised.Frankly I should have just waited for the NGX which is really the only plane I have been wanting for FSX since I switched from FS9.

Yeah now I'm guessing that won't run on my system all too well but I have my hopes up and have been waiting patiently for this plane!

Your guessing the J41 won't run to well on your system or the NGX? I would imagine that the J41 will be a good barometer of how the NGX will be as far as performance, unless they somehow optimize the NGX ever more. I saw in another post that you said you had the Duke. I dont have it but heard it cost a few FPS, but if you can run it ok then the J41 may suite you well also.

I meant the NGX hehe. Yes I have the Duke and it runs great! Not as well as Carenado (what does!?) but it's better than the Mustang and Citation XThe main problem is: So many users report different results. One guy told me via PM that his OCed Q9650 couldnt run the Duke with higher than teens, yet I get around 28-30 in clouds in rural areas. It's gotta be something to do with nHancer vs default options vs nvidia control panel.... uuugh

Yeah that's the problem is that there are so many combinations of settings in FSX and eNhancer and their computers in general that it makes complete sense why we all report such different performance. I see people here all the time with rigs better than mine getting worse performance in some of the same areas using the same addons.I am pretty confident though that the NGX will be able to be customized via the config manager that most everyone can run it and get good FPS.

1. No refunds, sorry.2. No Best Buy boxed version of the J41 any time soon.3. NGX should in fact be more optimized than the J41 was. There's some cool stuff we're doing with the systems that should lead to a pretty big performance gain.

J41 is well worth lowering the sliders if Your PC couldn't stand it. In addition, You can lower the refresh rate of J41's displays, which helps a lot. I have QX9770 + 1666MHz RAM + GTX280 and the FPS drop is almost not noticeable.

Thanks for the info Ryan! I think I'll hold out for the NGX then!
