Would anyone recommend this hardware? (Flight Yoke, Rudder, Throttle?)

Featured Replies

First, I fly with the PMDG747 almost exclusively. I've been looking at buying some hardware to improve the experience, and I was looking at these. Would anyone recommend that I buy these or is there something better out there that you would recommend? The yolk:http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-...41%28ME%29.aspxThe rudder:http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-...35%28ME%29.aspxThe throttle (I am unsure about buying the throttle)http://www.memoryexpress.com/Products/PID-...43%28ME%29.aspxDo you think for the throttle I can have one lever be for the spoiler, the second for the flaps, and the third for the throttle? Can I customize this in FSX?How do I plug all of these into my computer? I don't think I have that many USB output.Thoughts, opinions, ideas? Thanks!

i have the yoke and extra quadrant and have been using them for over a year now, runs great.a quadrant is included with the yoke so if you are only going to use 3 levers, then you dont need to buy the extra quadrant.

yes that is easily possible in FSX

the yoke and included quadrant take up one USB portthe rudder pedals use one USB porta second throttle quadrant will take up another USB portso for the yoke, included quadrant, and pedals; you will need 2 free USB portshope this helps

I have used the saitek throttle set exactly as you've described in FSX. It's simply a task of going through the FSX menus to customize them to act as you wish. It's quite likely I'll by a second set in the near future, 4 throttles, flaps and spoiler.Simon

Saitek Rudder pedals are good, I have a set and they can take a real battering. If you are short of USB slots, you can get a USB splitter that will plug into a USB port and give you more sockets, or you can install a card that has USB slots on it. Make sure they are compatible with the latest USB Standards. This is basically what you are looking for, you can find them in most computer stores: http://www.microdirect.co.uk/home/product/...b-2-powered-hubAl

Thanks all,Does that yoke vibrate? especially when you do a hard landing?Do you fight the hydraulics (is that the correct term?) with this yolk? Thanks again all. I will pick these up on the way home from work today.

check out the saitek forum first, I have owned them all from day 1, rudders fine, yoke and throttles.......expect some griefhttp://www.saitekforum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=149Thanks

I've returned 2 Siatek Yokes now, for sticking. More info on their forums, and in the hardware forums here. I gave up after no. 2.But, to be fair, many people seem happy with 'em.I liked the throttles. But compared to my X52-Pro, the yoke had all the finesse of a sledgehammer. And various posts suggest that what I saw was standard - you just have to deal with it. No thanks. If I can't use one hand on throttle, one hand on yoke, then I'll stick with my hotas. I keep looking at the CH product, but hear similar stories. I doubt that I can get what I want (at a sensible price!) so I'll stay with what I have. Shame, though. I'd love a decent yoke.If you're a handyman, then a good number of threads suggest you can improve the sticky-ness with a bit of cutting. But since I can only barely change a plug, that's not an option for me.

How do I plug all of these into my computer? I don't think I have that many USB output. Thanks!
HelloThe Rudder pedals and the throttles plug into the yoke, the yoke plugs into an available USB port on your PCSo you will only need one free USB port. The yoke has a built in 3 port USB hub and the throttle unit that comes with the yoke plugs in via a ps/2 style round plug, after plugging in the other throttle and rudders the yoke still has one free USB port.

Hi all,I bought all three pieces of hardware today and I am very happy. Slightly disappointed on the size of the yolk, I was hoping it would be slightly smaller than what it is (not the yoke itself, but that big box behind it.)I have run into two problems: I am trying to configure my yolk on EZDOK Camera, but whenever I select the drop down box to select the joystick, the only two options that show up is my old saitek stick or "off." Any ideas/solutions?How do I make the force feedback on the stick stronger? I want to really put alot of effort when I am doing extremely fast vertical acceleration. Also, as far as I know, the yoke doesn't vibrate, correct?

For the throttle quadrant, the lever on the left is for throttle, the two other levers don't do anything. How do I make the one in the middle set my flaps and the one on the right set my spoilers?

I found answers to all my questions except how to make the yoke force feedback tougher. Thanks,

Open it up and replace the 2 elevator springs with a higher tensile strength
