When is the next patch coming out?

Featured Replies

Nothing more frustrating than spending half an hour doing the switches and W&B only to burn the engines during startup even when I had unfeathred the blades (flat pitch when viewed from the side). Is there any indication as to when the next patch will come out so that one can be assured that when you start with the a/c it will have all its switches and systems in a really dark/off configuration? that would really be a godsent. So far I start with the C152 at the gates, then turn off all the systems of that a/c, then switch to the J41 and go on my J41 business but sometimes it goes right, sometimes it burns the engines. This was my last chance to finally do a full flight but now with engines burnt and a visitor coming over for a month, this a/c will be in the hangar for quite some time because real life takes precedence. I think this patch where one could REALLY rely on a dark cockpit would enhance the enjoyment of this a/c.Cheers & see you next month!

Hey Emilio this may not be the solution your looking for but I would purchase the fs2crew voice commander for the js41, I have never had so much fun, it also has an option at the start where with one push of a button your copilot gets the aircraft configured for a cold and dark, everything is perfectly set up for you. I'm so hooked on the voice commander series I can't fly an aircraft without it.

I can't remember which thread stated this, but the patch apparently will not be out before the NGX is released...as for when that is, I have no idea.

Hi.PMDG has a "tutorial" on how to properly start up the JS4100 on their knowledge base: http://support.preci...ted-issues.aspxAfter starting up the sim, you have to configure the JS4100 cold and dark as per the checklist and save it (or load the tutorial flight). Then you have a cold & dark airplane for your next flights.

There is a EULA written to start cold and dark. Check the FSUIP forums, that is where I got it. Works like a charm....press one key (your choice) and it will shut everything down. I also have FS2Crew and agree with ianbeggs that it is a super program. However, sometimes I just prefer to fly with Michelle (IYP) and do the work myself so the EULA option is really good in that situation.

Hi Emilio, try the way I described here.

Yet another way to get a proper cold/dark state is to use the little program I wrote. Here is the thread: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/264524-easier-method-of-j41-colddark-startup/ . The latest version is 0.6, which is the one in post #25. Basically, all you need to do is load the program before starting FSX, then press TAB-Q while in the J41 cockpit. After a bit of loading, the cockpit should be set to cold and dark.

+1 That's what I use religiously. It works great!PS. Wombat, you need to sign your full name to posts per forum rules. Mainly so I can say thanks more personably without thinking I was talking to an Australian marsupial :wink:Thanks for the sweet and quick fix! I wouldn't even say "after a bit of loading", since it's really like 5 seconds total from start to finish. To me that's pretty instant.

FYI -> EULA = End User License Agreement. Now, what license has to do with Cold & Dark, I have no idea.

Right, I fully agree with the OP. I too want to see that fixed in J41. Cold & Dark should be default in a product from PMDG. As to the "tutorial", is it ok to start with running aircraft every time and shut it down first to get it up again ? Bollocks. It's like buying a car that is always running and you have to shut down the engine first to have full experience.
