X-Plane 10 Previews

Featured Replies

I had a nice talk with austin in Oshkosh during the air show and according to him, X-plane 10 will blow FSX out of the water. There will be better ATC, AI traffic that lands and takes off, tools making addon creation easier, 3d clouds, better real time weather, and not to mention the default aircraft, they will compare in quality to PMDG. it will be like nothing flight simulation has even seen.
I use X-Plane 9 quite a bit and if solid AI traffic and ATC gets added to environment like these pics, I will never complain.Keith

Hopefully the cockpits will keep up with the exterior graphics. In many cockpits you couldn't even identify the aircraft you were sitting in. The main reason why I haven't switched so far.

As it should, or at least we would hope - since FSX came out in 2006. XP will come out in 2011 maybe... Technology changes in 5 years ;) Let's see what Microsoft brings to the table as well with their upcoming "Flight." This can be only good for the end user :

My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL |
| Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |

Austin wants XP10 out before christmas but Microsoft flight isn't set to come out until 2013. There will be some time in between sims and I think x-plane will become more widely used once x-plane 10 comes out and more people develop for x-plane.

Here are some interesting notes about the videos and pictures:http://xplanescenery.blogspot.com/2010/08/x-plane-10-what-has-been-posted-so-far.html

the video is not actually x-plane10, it was just the promo video used to advertise x-plane at oshkosh.

LOL, x-plane xx will blow fs xx out of the water, will leapfrog it etc... that's what Austin claims for EVERY new version since almost 10 years and it never happened. I would be surprised if it's true now.

If you think that, you have no business in the x-plane forums.

I don't THINK that, I'm EXPERIENCING that since many years, and it might help other to reduce their unrealistic expectations

SG, why are you even here if you hate x plane so much and have such low expectations of xp 10?I don't fly FSX much anymore and consequently, i don't go to FSX forums telling them how much better I think X Plane is.I have expectations of brilliant night lighting and scenery. That's enough for me atm.The flight model, for me, is superior to FSX.But that's my opinion. But I don't go around to FSX forums telling them that.

Well it's a preview post. People give their opinion about the preview shots. I don't see why people state that other people have no business around these forums if they think they found that x-plane has not yet delivered its promises to blow away FS. As far as I'm concerned, I'm not FS a really excited user. I flew x-plane 9 a little bit. I was missing too much features like ATC and detailed systems on airliners, but sometime had some fun doing vfr in the Inside Passage. The screenshots from the night lighting look good. I'm more keen to see what x-plane will look at day time. But above all, I'll be keen to see what features will be added - this will be the key factor in my decision to carry on with x-plane or not; at that point I would prefer to have it expanding its features rather than trying to look better than FSX and maybe Flight.

What makes you believe that I 'hate' x-plane??? Read my previous posts more carefully. That's just a many years long observation. If I would 'hate' it, I would have never built planes for x-plane.And that Austin now starts to openly post lies about FSX (instead of the usual bragging) doesn't really add to my desire to try any further x-plane version.
