August 20, 201015 yr Commercial Member My biggest issue with X Plane the last time I tried it was the UI - he really needs to give it an easy to use interface without a giant screen full of esoteric options and stuff (keep that in there as an advanced thing, but it needs to be simplified a lot for the primary options) It needs to be able to work out of the box for the average user the same way MSFS does. I had all kinds of strange control issues too, like the elevator in the 172 was on some kind of super sensitive twitch setting where the slightest movement of my joystick resulted in a 20 degree pitchup - it was pretty much uncontrollable. I like a lot of what xplane does but despite its renowned flight models the twitchiness makes it a downer and unrealistic for me. I agree with the interface too-though I found once you get used to it it is kinda like avsim moving to a new forum-a learning curve but then you learn to like it.Still I think there is potential-if they really listen to critics and respond-xplane 10 may be something. August 22, 201015 yr BTW Dan, I have always been curious about your avatar, are you sticking your tongue out all the way down your chin or is that a goatee? Ever since I first saw your pic I have been trying to figue out what your doing in it. Haha, actually it's a piece of turkey from a sandwhich I was eating. I was just being a goof for my girlfriends kids and she took the shot. It was airplane related though since I was looking up in the sky at one at the time ... and the whole time I thought it was some malformity that social correctness kept me from asking about! Turkey, good grief... I see it now... Time for a new pic Dan, LOL... Regards, Al Jordan | KCAE
