August 19, 201015 yr When I imagine a flight environment such as our sims, with the power of todays GPU's and processors, the things that I imagine just boggle the mind :Big Grin:Click here to see what I mean, and click here to see the first aircraft I think PMDG is going to release for it :(Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa Sexy Lady! August 19, 201015 yr You don´t need to regret telling the truth, Robert. Some times speculations get out of hand and people start to kill bunnies needlessly. Anyhow, I find all of this speculation agitating. It seems like MS is going the PMDG method, give a little teaser, and let the community sit in confusion and speculate about every single feature. August 19, 201015 yr Anyhow, I find all of this speculation agitating. It seems like MS is going the PMDG method, give a little teaser, and let the community sit in confusion and speculate about every single feature.A lot of game companies are doing this now and some have been doing it for years. The fact that it only adds to speculation increases the :( factor. Does this mean that PMDG is intentionally trying to make us crazy? No. They can choose to allow us to see or know whatever they so desire. Personally, I would much rather know more about what is in the pipeline so the speculation factor decreases, but what I or others want should not matter to those who are selling a product. August 19, 201015 yr Are people seriously trying to depict MSF based on a single video not even generated from the game itself? Anyone remember the speculation when this screenshot was released? By the way just because the word simulator was removed doesn't mean its not gonna be a simulator.

August 19, 201015 yr Well:1. Its the very first media release of MSF2. Not even crysis looks that good3. If the game itself was actually ready for media releases such as the video there would be more than a 30 second video.
August 19, 201015 yr I was in Gamecom today in Cologne. Apart from Aerosoft ... and believe it or not a.... farm simulator, there was nothing on display about "Flight" on Microsoft's turf. The company had around 10 PCs with Age of Empires installed for visitors to play.It is interesting that Age of Empires which is a game sharing the same press release as MS Flight will be a free game to download and play on the LIVE network. Users will download extra content from the network. Needless to say "no comment" from anyone from Microsoft on Flight. So to use the infamous words of a previous US administration there are more "unknowns" than "knowns". I guess we will know more in 12 months time. Until then PMDG is the only source of flight simulation products worth looking forward to (personal opinion please don't comment on it :().Have a great weekend everyone.Ilias
August 20, 201015 yr Hopefully it works on Android software. Hyhyhy, yeah I wan't it on my cell phone Well, there's X-Plane for Android in development. Soon to be available. Tomasz Fiszer -- IFIYGD
August 20, 201015 yr Hum, I think you're a little bit confused galatei. ESP development was ACES job, and it was basically an attempt to sell the FSX engine to do other simulations. This was a branch that died in the same time as ACES was closed (just the same way the MS Train Sim using ESP died back then). Nowhere in your link there is any mention of the new Microsoft Flight using ESP, this page about ESP was there a couple of years ago already if I remember rightly, so you might want to do some better research first before stating that. You're kidding right? ESP is still used by many - check MS' social boards.I doubt M$ would dump such a big SDK and put millions into a completely new framework. Even FSInsider page for devs was updated quite recently, and is still stating ESP as main FS platform, so I wouldn't be surprised if new Flight was based on ESP or ESP 2(which was planned before).Only time will tell.I'd really prefer great companies like PMDG, to consider porting their products to X-Plane, which gets better and better. If I had 747, J41 or 737NGX on X-Plane, I'd dump FSX easily. Only lack of good realistic planes keeps my copy of XPlane9 uninstalled. Tomasz Fiszer -- IFIYGD
August 20, 201015 yr Well, no I'm not kidding, really. ESP is using the FSX engine, and was developped by ACES. As far as I remember, Phil Taylor clearly said that the closure of ACES resulted in the end of the development on ESP. It doesn't mean ESP is not used, it is, just like FSX and its SDK are used currently. There might be a ESP 2 yes, but then we know even less about it than we know about Flight. At this point, there is absolutely zero indication that Flight uses ESP in any way, that's all. When Microsoft dropped ACES, they might indeed have dropped this big SDK because they felt it wasn't going anywhere (after all they canned the MS Train Sim which was going to use ESP). As far as X-Plane goes, it might become more interesting if all serious 3rd party would migrate there, but there's still a long way to go (I was hugely disappointed by X-plane 9 and what is offered in the various stores dedicated to x-plane), probably long enough to be able to wait and see what Microsoft has to offer (and even Aerosoft). I'm happy if PMDG keeps using FSX as their main platform for a while.
