i will definitely not purchase this as my pmdg aircraft wont work for this and besides whats the difference between lets say fsx and fs9 not much and besides the only 2 aircraft i will be purchasing are the ngx and 777 and they're for fsx so im covered Big%20Grin.gif
To each his own, but that's a pretty strong statement for a product that none of us know absolutely nothing about.Maybe there will be some backward compatibility? Maybe it will be like FSX but even better looking? Maybe it will run better? Frankly I think I will reserve my judgment on whether or not to buy it once I know what the new sim actually does, rather than making a judgement based off the fact that they dont use the word "Simulator" in the title or on how the short trailer looked. The only thing we do know is that it's new and will be comming out in the future, aside from that everything else is just a guess.Just my .02 cents.

I still think it can still be good news regardless, even if it does end up to be more of a game. Seeing MS back into this type of thing in general should hopefully mean a #11 at least in the future. I can't remember the name of it or who did it, but someone released a game years ago that I bought thinking it was a sim. It was great in its own right, but not at all when you're expecting a sim with working guages, models, etc. I forget the platform even, it may have been for the 1st Xbox but think it was PC.I figured MS would lay low for a bit, since some of you might remember all the crap MS took after 9-11. Of course it was yearrrrs later but was rumored to be the main reason MS dropped FS. If this does end up being more game than sim I would guess that might be part of the reason.Anywho, it would be insanely sweet to see a new sim written to take advantage of GPU's for a change. If this does end up being a sim, I think it will be a quantum leap between FS9 and FSX, and if they do spread it out and let the GPU's do more, then I think we can all see FS wars come to an end (at least for a while :( ).We should have more info released soon if it is a Sim since MS will see the debates. If they don't, then I think that will probably point to it being a spin off like I first feared. Not having the word sim, may not be an indication, but knowing how some companies work and from what I have seen in the past does scare me a bit.

Mod- Can we lock this thread so as to keep all the MS Flt confined to the main one in the hangar forum?
I see no reason why this can't be discussed here.

I am curious though, now it has been announced were any of the top end payware developers (like PMDG) notified about this earlier? IIRC before Aces was dropped they were working with payware developers were they not?
As if we'd be allowed to tell you even if we had been... tongue.gif

Wouldn't that be nice. Although even if it ended up being the best sim yet, there will still be a bunch of people sticking with FS9, lol.BTW Dan, I have always been curious about your avatar, are you sticking your tongue out all the way down your chin or is that a goatee? Ever since I first saw your pic I have been trying to figue out what your doing in it.

Haha, actually it's a piece of turkey from a sandwhich I was eating. I was just being a goof for my girlfriends kids and she took the shot. It was airplane related though since I was looking up in the sky at one at the time :Big Grin:Yeah, you're right about some staying with it, but hopefully it won't be due to slow systems (if they do it the way I hope). I'm sure it will take a good rig but with a new sim I can't imagine the differences not being monumental compared to the differences they had between FS9 & FSX. For me they are more than enough, but I would probably thought much differently if I had lots of coin invested in FS9. If it is a sim I honestly think it will have tools or automatically except FSX addons, at least to a point (just being hopeful I guesss).Wouldn't it be great to have an FS11 with DX11 capability? <Drools>

Hahah - I have always wondered that too but I was afraid the answer would ruin the bizarre speculation on my part...

LOL, a while after I posted it I though that I hoped it wasn't a birth defect or a skin condition that he was sensitive about. I was already planning my apology for asking if he got mad, lol.

Hahaha, yeah that would be my luck to say something and have it be a birth defect. A couple weeks ago, even though I knew I shouldn't because my luck it would most likely be wrong asked the girl cutting my hair when she was due for her pregnancy to have her answer she wasn't pregnant... I turned it around quick to say it was the fact she had on a maternity dress. She replied it was the current fashion thing,,, um ok haha. This pic you can see it better, my ex always liked me to take her to artsy fartsy stuff, and in my area they have too much of it.turk.jpgSorry, I don't mean to hijack this topic but have had lots of questions about it and figured I'd clear it up once and for all :(

Too funny. I have actually had the pregnancy question backfire on me a few times as well. One lady told me thanks for mentioning that but I am just fat and the others I asked was because of the type of shirts they were wearing. Now I never ask, but I wonder how those pregnancy style shirts and dresses have gotten into fashion? My girldfriend has a few of those shirts and I always remark "oh, wearing the pregnant shirt today huh?"

Turbine- In AVSIM Hangar Talk today, n4gix-Fr Bill presents an interesting case for the new "MS Flight" being based on an upgraded FS9 platform. Fr Bill, as a pro developer/insider, keeps his ear to the ground and has a pretty good track record regarding what's happening in Flight Sim. I wouldn't bet against him.Alex Reid

January- Funny, I thought we had enough conversations to where you knew my name or could read but perhaps I'm thinking of another month of the year :PI'm not sure if you meant to toss a link in there or not but have no idea what and who you're talking about there bud. Especially since I don't know who you may think I'm against? hahaha. As for them basing it off of FS9, I thought they did that and called it FSX?
