August 21, 201015 yr So like I said in the title, in there a way to hide the default aircraft from the selection menu while still keeping them active for the missions? I never pick the default aircraft for my flights but I do the missions sometimes. I know how to comment out aircraft, remove them from the aircraft folder, etc... but I still want them to work for the missions. Thanks for any help!Todd
August 21, 201015 yr Why would you want to do that? There are significant reasons to always start FSX with a default aircraft...just to keep the addons working properly. Check out this forum for a lengthy discussion on JUST this topic.Stan
August 22, 201015 yr Todd,Unforunately, you cannot have it both ways. The aircraft is either active or inactive when you boot FSX and if the aircraft is active, it will be available in the aircraft selection screen.Regards,Bob
August 22, 201015 yr You do know you can use the dropdown menu on the aircraft selection screen to only see the planes you want? You have to use that dropdown menu everytime, but it makes selecting an airplane a lot easier, specially when you've got a lot. You probably know this but I posted it just in case. :(
August 22, 201015 yr Go to the aircraft.cfg file and blank out the "panel" entry number for those repaints that you do not want to appear on the aircraft selection menu. Alexander Alonso

You'll only make the plane disappear from the main screen, and it won't be valid for any default aircraft mission. August 23, 201015 yr The method I use was to catalogue a new folder under Simobjects (I called mine "RTG Aircraft") but did not change the FSX config file to include this folder. It is then a sumple matter to copy the aircraft you do not wich to see to the new folder and they won't be included in the FSX aircraft selection. When you want to use them just copy the aircraft folders you want back to the Airplanes folder. I prefer your way and I just quickly copy them back when needed - probably could create a little batch file to do it automagically.Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
