Don't forget KPHL!:(
Amen!Wolfgang

The last Aerosoft scenery I bought was Approaching Innsbruck. An amazing bit of work but I have had some FPS problems with it on my rather dated system. (Hoping to update soon!) So my question is, how are the performance issues with EDDM? I know that Aerosoft sceneries are usually FPS friendly, but after Approaching Innsbruck I'm a bit nervous about purchasing EDDM. (Let me stress again in case I offend anyone - Approaching Innsbruck is a superb product! The problem is my system limitations and not the scenery per se. But I can run a number of other complex add-ons okay, including FSDT KDFW and FlyTampa KBUF....)

Hi kiwiflyer45, I dont own the scenery yet its on my hot list hopefully soon!:( somebody said it performs similar to the lhr london heathrow scenery from aerosoft. I think if you can run kdfw or fsdt jfk you should be fine might need adjusting settings here and there. one airport I find hard on frame rates is paris lfpg from aerosoft, depending on the aircraft you fly mostly and cpu speed. but definitely the aircraft can take down those frame rates fast.

kiwiflyer45,I have both sceneries, so I can tell you what it is like on my computer when looking at FPS:LOWI - one of the worst sceneries I've ever boughtEDDM - one of the best sceneries I've ever boughtEDDM is an uncomparably larger airport but has a much much smooother performance.Probably Gianni (LOWI's developer) went too far with the Innsbruck city and surrounding details. But even taking the area objects into consideration the frames are way too low, so we are talking of some serious problems. After using Approaching Innsbruck twice or three times, I unistalled it. Of course it looks very nice, like you said yourself, but in my standards it was hardly usable.I had better performance in Frankfurt, Paris or London, with 100% traffic.I may give it another try one day, as Innsbruck is a great place to visit, also (or especially) from the air.Munich X is superb both in details and surprisingly high FPS.Someone wrote (I can't remember which post in which forum, lol) that approaching Munich X for the first time he thought he forgot to activate it, as there was no frame drop. :wink:That speaks for itself....

A "double thank you" Rafal. First, for recommending EDDM. I just downloaded and installed it and you are right, it is amazing! I've seen one small glitch which I'm sure they will quickly fix, but for such an incredibly detailed MAJOR airport, the FPS is excellent. My second "thank you" is for your comments about LOWI. I tried numerous times on the Aerosoft forum to get them to address the FPS issue. What I had found was that I got excellent FPS everywhere in the scenery except when looking toward the terminal area. I couldn't understand that, as there's nothing particularly complex about it. But I got the feeling from the forum administrator (a very nice man who was always very polite and prompt to reply) that it was really "my" problem and "no-one else" was having a problem. The review on AVSIM was an absolutely "rave review" so I figured maybe it was true - it was just my system. But you have just confirmed that it isn't just that. I think there's an issue there that could be fixed if they would take the time to look at it. It's a shame, as other than the FPS, it really is a great scenery. I still fly it occasionally and just try to ignore the stuttering in certain views but it would be a lot more enjoyable if they fixed it.Thanks for taking the time to reply. I appreciate it

Its always funny when they blame the customer. I had no idea that LOWI had such bad frame rates that is indeed odd, kinda sucks since it looks very nice. glade your getting good frame rates with EDDM kiwiflyer45, so far there have been some very positive reviews of the scenery.

I flew into LOWI yesterday, and I had some really nasty frame rates (down from 22 to about 8) on approach in fairly bad weather. I am sure that the clouds were taking their toll on my system (E8600 @ 4.00 and a GeForce 280), but I don't normally have this problem at other airports.Still, I love LOWI, it is my home airport in FS, so I will stick with it!Neil

Hi CesarI don't want to turn you off buying Approaching Innsbruck if your system can handle it. It is an astonishing scenery and even with the stutters I still have had a lot of fun with it. I just wish they would take the time to figure out why one area of the scenery, which is by no means the most complex area of the scenery, causes such a high frame rate loss.

I love it too. The only way I can get fairly acceptable FPS is to get rid of all clouds and instead set very low visibility - a sort of "ice fog" effect. And the winter textures (which are awesome) are far less demanding on frame rates than the other seasons, so basically I only fly it with limited visibility and hard winter. It looks great and everything runs well, except when you are viewing toward the terminal area. Using Milton Shupe's excellent freeware DHC-7 in Tyrolean colours I've had a lot of fun with it. And flying around low and slow in a Cub or helo and watching the ground traffic is a blast! :(

Depends on expectation I suppose.I was shut down in the Aerosoft forums because I though the Rock in Gibraltar X looked dreadful...others didn't seem to mind.I decided to wait for independent comment before buying Aerosoft again - glad to hear EDDM looks good.As to LOWI, it's worth upgrading your computer for! Here's a little clip I made of it, with Austria Pro backdrop.I spend a lot of time there, especially since AP has thermals available on the ridges to the north.Even allowing for FRAPS eating frames, it's possible to enjoy reasonable performance...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=71eBY_uSCqM
