October 16, 201015 yr Hi EveryoneI have had a perpetual problem with my graphics card drivers since building my rig (see specs below).I am currently running the 197.77 drivers however I repeatedly get driver failures after an hour or so into my flight. I am not too sure what I can do about it.Can anyone suggest what is likely to be going on, and perhaps suggest a driver I am going to have less issues with?Any help would be appreciatedCheersBluey Regards Barra i7 7700K, 16GB 3200MHz DDR4, GTX1070 OC 8GB, 1TB Samsung SSD for OS and P3D4.4, W10 64Bit, Corsair H115i Water Cooling

October 16, 201015 yr Anybody with something sensible to say?BlueyWell for starters go back 1 driver, did it work then?
October 16, 201015 yr Commercial Member Well for starters go back 1 driver, did it work then?I think that the 196.45 driver was the best for a 285GTX. You could still use nHancer or the new nVidia Inspector.enjoyjja Jim Allen[email protected]SkyPilot Software home of FSXAssist / P3DAssist

I would still be using them except 3DSMax 10 has trouble on those for some odd reason and all is ok on the loopy 197.25, but all in all 185.85 are best.

Mine ran fine when I first got it. After I upgraded the original drivers I started getting blue screen crashes and lockups when flying in dense scenery situations. I installed a temperature monitor (I believe it was called GPU-Z) and noticed that my video card fan would only run at 40% speed no matter what the load was. During high scenery densities the GPU temperature would climb to 85 degrees C and then I would get a blue screen error or a lock-up. Then I followed Nick's advice in this thread http://www.simforums.com/forums/topic34141_post198187.html#198187and installed the MSI afterburner software that allowed me to program a GPU fan speed vs load curve. After that the fan would rev up to 60% speed under load, the GPU temperature never exceeded 60 C degrees and I haven't had any more blue screens or crashes. Also his advice on setting up the drivers with Nvidia inspector improved the look of my graphics. Hope this helps.Ted [email protected] ghz, Noctua C12P CPU air cooler, Asus Z77, 2 x 4gb DDR3 Corsair 2200 mhz cl 9, EVGA 1080ti, Sony 55" 900E TV 3840 x 2160, Windows 7-64, FSX, P3dv3, P3dv4
October 22, 201015 yr Hello,I am using an EVGA GTX 285 with latest nVidia drivers (Beta 260.89) and Inspector and working OK. I recently completed a 3 1/2 hr. ATC flight with Active Sky Evolution and PC did not cough. There is a utility at the EVGA web site called EVGA Precision that works on other graphic card whereby you can control the fan and other video aspects on your graphics card. This may be worth looking into. Wilbert

Violla no more black screen, FSX works perfectly and has been for months.Hope this helps.Arnold
October 25, 201015 yr I have also the GTX285 and using the old and trusted 182.50 together with Nhancer 2.4.5. No issues at all whatsoever.Hope it helps.Alex

Use them to depict PNW...and you'll have a smile as wide as the Grand Canyon!
