October 20, 201015 yr Commercial Member Hi guys,There has been plenty threads and discussion about the 737 and the 777,i havent found a true topic on the dash 8..We have been told there are two teams working at the same time, one on the dash and one on the ngx...Now,If the dash 8 is still going ahead with release after ngx, how long after. In theory [maybe pmdg will even answer] is the dash 8 nearly finished? The ngx has over shadowed the demand for screenshots etc so pmdg have had the "bliss?" that no one has asked for progress reports or screenshots.May I now? What is the progress on the dash from "team B" so to speak.. And where does the release sequence come into this@ryan + Vinc, thank youAlex Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! YOUTUBE and FACEBOOK
October 20, 201015 yr I remember one of the PMDG staffers stating that all development work was on the NGX, and that Dash-8 was on hold and the T7 hasn't even been started. I could be wrong or it could have changed. Joe Sherrill
October 20, 201015 yr Actually, you are both correct. It was once stated that due to the way they were starting from the ground up with the NGX and future releases that they were using techniques that would allow them to do multiple projects at the same time. In another thread it was also said that there were possibly going to be more than one team to work on these projects.Nothing was really garunteed from what I remember reading, and just remember it as "they would be able to" meaning it was possible and hopeful. But RSR recently said that is not the case in another recent post. Whether that meant it never happened or was intended to happen is another story, but it also has been said a few times that all developers and the team are currently focused on only the NGX. Personally, I like the idea of that last part no matter how much I look forward to their other projects. i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier

October 24, 201015 yr It seems all of your posts are either asking for updates or criticising them once they are released. Forgive me if there is actually more to your posts... Craig Sells

October 24, 201015 yr I haven't looked for the last thread, but Alex, wasn't it RSR that responded directly to this question from you in another recent thread saying what I mentioned above? i9 10920x @ 4.8 ~ MSI Creator x299 ~ 256 Gb 3600 G.Skill Trident Z Royal ~ EVGA RTX 3090ti ~ Sim drive = M.2 2-TB ~ OS drive = M.2 is 512-gb ~ 5 other Samsung Pro/Evo mix SSD's ~ EVGA 1600w ~ Win 10 Pro Dan Prunier
October 24, 201015 yr Author Commercial Member Indeed , he was also very critical over at Aerosoft , with the A320 development .... :(Erm yes i was, and have you looked on the forums?? Everything that i said "prematurely" has been repeated x1000. I find it extremely rude to try to offend me and rub dirt into my name. I was also the person who offered hours of support post release, i bet you didn't realise that eitherP.s "giib" you have to sign your full name in posts or they may get deleted, that is forum rulesI haven't looked for the last thread, but Alex, wasn't it RSR that responded directly to this question from you in another recent thread saying what I mentioned above?Hi Dan, No this hasnt been answered yet, I am not looking to ask for NGX relases etc, this is purely a question in enquiring into how the pmdg has been split up, and the progress on the dash 8 [which we are still led to believe is being done by the team who did the jetstream" Alex Ridge Join Fswakevortex here! October 24, 201015 yr Commercial Member Gents-The whole lot of you are incorrect, actually. There is always quite a bit of interest in timelines and elapsed time between releases. This isn't how we operate, however- so it doesn't do much good to guess or prognosticate. We move resources pretty quickly between tasks, so as a code resource frees up on one project they'll begin work on another.Right now, some of the resources that we anticipated dedicating to the Dash-8 are still bound up on detailwork with the NGX completion, so there is nobody working on that project for the time being. The NGX is taking primary development resources at this time. It will remain this way until release. The 777 is taking secondary code development but is tertiary on modeling and artwork. The Dash-8 requires more overlap between the code teams than we can afford at the moment, so Team 2 is working on something else. No- we won't tell you what it is.We are offering no timelines or prioritization on any of these projects except to say that the NGX will be released next. Why do we operate in this fashion? Well- because we can- and because we want to make the most efficient use of resources possible so that we don't have to wait five years between major releases as we have in the past.A year from now, I think you'll be looking back on 2011 with some surprise at how much we've accomplished... That is the plan at any rate. Disclaimer: Everything in this post is subject to change without notice- and in fact if it does change- it is likely you won't get notice. :( Robert S.
