Anyone own the Captainsim new 707

Featured Replies

Hi all,I was looking at the new CS707. Can an owner of this nice looking product tell me overall your thoughts, but first 2 questions. 1) How is the FPS hit? Note: I can use the PMDGJ4100 ok due to the fact I have the config settings turned down, so I can get usable FPS. 2) Does the ACE Configurator allow you to turn off the virtual cabin. That is a big factor and most likely the deciding one that will make me either buy it or pass on it. Other than that, anything else you want to add is fine. Thanks in advance. By the way, My connection speed tonight has been really slow, so I didn't use the search function because it was taking forever to load. Thanks again. :)Warm regards, Jeff

Yes, that search function would have helped here. Big%20Grin.gifNo problem, here is all you need to get information and some other links too Captain Sim 707 1.1 thread.Short answers are 1) same as the 727, so very minor hit and 2) yes

Hi Jeff - FPS hit? Really can't say there is any on my rig, I would say as good or better than the JS41. As for disabling the VC with the ACE configurator I am not sure on that one. The update (v1.20) now contains ACE so you may be in luck there.Try posting in the unofficial forum here: http://forum.avsim.net/forum/298-the-unofficial-captain-sim-support-forum/or the CS forum located here: http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?catselect=x707

Very good aircraft. ACE is not finished and there are some small issues but nothing too bad. I just wish they included first officer callouts and if TOPCAT decided to support this airplane, it would be nearly perfect. It may not have full blown failure simulations, but with how busy and complex the aircraft is and that it normally was operated by a three person crew, I wouldn't want to deal with failures on top of the very busy single pilot load.

I thoroughly enjoy it! I run FSX on a laptop, and I get more than double...maybe even more....FPS over the PMDG JS4100. Visually beautiful, great sounds, flies great! It does have a few issues, more than some companies, but it's still very flyable!IMHO you can't go wrong with it!
