flightsim commander 9.0 is out

Featured Replies

It has been a while since I flew the F1 Mustang, but the RXP430/530 have no notion of an FSX flightplan. To use them with Flightsim Commander, I would create the flight plan in FSC, then enter the waypoints manually into the RXP gps. Since the FSC database is updateable (Navigraph) and the most recent Garmin database you can use in the RXP units is only about a year old, they go pretty well together. While FSC doesn't read a flight plan created in FSX (to my knowledge), it does export to the FSX format, so using it with FSX is simple. Just create the plan in FSC, save it, and load it in FSX.The main drawback of Plan-G is that it is based on the FSX database, so the approaches, intersections, and navaids often differ substantially from what you get with the Navigraph updates. Having said that, Plan-G is an excellent product if you mostly do VFR flight, or if you are happy with the FSX navigation database.
Thanks. On delving more into this I can see that Plan-G is more oriented to the VFR pilot in that, with its use of Google maps, it is simple to add points of geographical interest to the flightplan and FSC to the hardcore IFR pilot with its much simpler map display (low detail coastlines etc.) but richer nav and airport data. The F1 Mustang uses FSX flightplans so no problems there but most of my other GA aircraft have the RXP Garmins. While both RXP and FSC export to FSX neither imports so using both together seems to be a bit fiddly in that you will always need to create two flightplans. The other issue that puts me off FSC a bit concerns the attitude to their customers in no longer providing support for the previous version. Poor form in my view, at the very least they could have had a sunset arrangement. One other matter, when I went into the AVSIM FSX forum today I could not find this thread and the only way I could track it down was by using the search function - go figure!Bruceb

Hi

I have FSC( .2 and whilst it seems to create a FX flight plan which appears in my doc file whenI go to load it it does not register at all.

Any ideas why ?

Thank you any help welcome

Regards

David

what do you mean by the flight plan fails to register.

Did you check the flight plan created by FSC in FSX to see it was created ok for FSX.

I have used FSC for Years and never heard of this, so its possible you missing a step.

I would suggest testing a very simple flight plan with no waypoints jus start and destination, see if FSX is happy with this.

Also very importantly try to rebuild your FSC database.
