Automated Tweaking and Tuning tool for FSX

Followed your suggestion and you were absolutely right. Corrected the file extension and problem solved.I have no idea how you knew this from the info that I sent
fsx.cfg 12/01/2011 15:53 CFG FileFSX.cfg.bak 12/09/2010 20:57 BAK Filefsx.CFG 10/01/2011 12:07 Text Documentfsx_CFG_Before_MyTraffic 2010_was_installed 24/12/2009 12:58 CFG File

See above, you have two fsx.cfg but one of them says 'Text Document' meaning, in reality that the file name is:fsx.cfg.txt and the one called fsx.cfg is in fact fsx.cfg.cfg thats why I said to change the setting to see the extensions, that way the problem becomes more than evident.

Not sure if this is the place to ask but does this seem right?ThanksSpecs:Q6700 2.6ghz OC'ed to 3.1ghz4gb gtx460 1GB OC edition
For your specs, yes.

I used this tool and it is very interestingOne thing Im not sure about is if im supposed to continue to use nhancer after using the tool. or if the recommendations that i get back in the report take nhancer into account.Any thoughts on this?Peter

nHancer has little to do with the Tuning tool, Peter; the tool addresses parameters which are hidden within FSX, whereas nHancer is an nVidia driver control mechanism - replaced now by nVidia Inspector (dependent upon the driver version you are running). Here's the Google link to a dozen or so download sites:http://www.google.ca/#hl=en&xhr=t&q=nVidia+Inspector&cp=9&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=0&aqi=&aql=&oq=nVidia+In&pbx=1&fp=79f005119b7c214a

Like Paul said, they are unrelated. You can use nHancer or Inspector AND the tool, no prob. I personally use nVidia Inspector with the Sparse Grid 4x setting to completely remove shimmering.

I would like to completely remove shimmering of my ATI Radeon HD 5870. What would be the equivalent solution for this card?

Best regards from RelaxX

hmm no idea, but the Sparse Grid option is a SuperSampling antialias TRANSPARENCY setting available only through Inspector. it is the ONLY setting that has completely removed any trace of shimmering in my FSX install with no performance impact. So, in your case try to find a program that lets you change Transparency Anti-Alias and set it to SuperSampling (Sparse Grid 4x) other Supersampling AA transparency methods will NOT work. Alternatetively, you can also use the Multisampling transparency AA which does work but creates some stuttering in FSX. I assume CCC does NOT have the option to play with AA modes, so you need the equivalent of nVidia inspector for ATI cards, I guess it would be RivaTuner.

Hi *******,could you please look at the new Nvidia driver 266.58?This driver let FSX run very smooth, but FPS dropped downeven with your Tuning Tool.Perhaps you can adjust something?ThanksMichael

Michael, there is a not a single FPS drop with the new drivers. I think its placebo. trust me when I say I'm 'picky' about performance and I check and re-check any new drivers to compare with my previous ones.

Thanks guys for the feedback. Is there a link to the parameters to be used setting up "inspector" or should I just go with my nhancer settings. I have a gtx 480 and 295 in this machine. Maybe i should just drop it at this point.By the way *******. When I fly sometimes I fool around with the multicore settings in fsinn, Is that just a waste of time given the optimization using this tweaking tool. Thanks Peter

Inspector settings by Nick Needham:http://www.simforums.com/forums/fsx-and-nhancer-settings-for-new-drivers-updated_topic36586.htmlbelow link will give you the latest version for 266.58 nvidia drivers - Above settings still work no matter the inspector versionhttp://download.orbmu2k.de/download.php?id=51Regards,Mario

Michael, I max out most, but not all sliders, car traffic (which is set at 0) and I fly VATSIM exclusively, so not AI traffic slider either.I set clouds at 60nm because setting them to max does not make any diff if you use external weather programs that have visibility graduation. Aditionally, the Mesh resolution I have is set to 10m because is the lowest mesh resolution I have installed. all the other sliders are set to max.
