December 8, 201015 yr Im not too sure how many people in here enjoy fighter jets and military planes ( I know I do), but Iris Flight simulation is having a sale on their F-14 ( the VC is to DIE!!! for) for the next 24 hours. Its only $5.00. The plane sells for $50.00. They are having what they call a Five Dollar Frenzy. I know this isn't PMDG related, but I just wanted to pass the information to anyone that wants to hear it, and this is the main Avsim forum that I tend to use. Just thought some might like to know. EDIT: This is actually what the IRIS store says, "Our FIVE DOLLAR FRENZY promotion will commence on 09:00 GMT on the 8th of December and last until 09:00 GMT on December 25th 2010. Flight Simulator, even with all it has given us, just isn't made to simulate a warplane like the A-10 in the was DCS can. Iris Simulations A-10 is amazing in every regard, but if I really wanted an A-10 simulation the DCS A-10 simulator would be my number 1 choice.That said, both are note-worthy choices and worth every penny. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory.The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune.There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.
December 9, 201015 yr Ok. Well I am a commercial kind of guy. Very strict and do everything per proceedure. That being said, I do like to 'fool around' with a military plane every once in a while, but not really being in to military, I don't care to pay very much money for a military simulation, nor to learn a whole new program. I will be checking back daily.I own it..........and omFg.....you can drop bombs AND THEY EXPLODE in fsx.......u can fire the GAU-8...its pretty intense. and the VC for it is ridiculous, in a good wayIm 50-50 with my simming. I spend half my time flying the heavies, But I have a Saitek X52 that I like to take to its full potential with some fighters and some old P-51 and stuff like that. December 9, 201015 yr Since we are on the topic of militatry fighters I thought it might be pertinant to let every one know that Vertical Reality has a 30% off sale on the Superbug. I have been trying to distract myself from the NGX by trying to learn the complex systems on this airplane. It is really amazing and I suggest that any one who wants a high qauilty systems intensive airplane, buy this one. The sale is good for the FSX and FS9 version. Mike Keigley
