Since we are on the topic of militatry fighters I thought it might be pertinant to let every one know that Vertical Reality has a 30% off sale on the Superbug. I have been trying to distract myself from the NGX by trying to learn the complex systems on this airplane. It is really amazing and I suggest that any one who wants a high qauilty systems intensive airplane, buy this one. The sale is good for the FSX and FS9 version.
I think that plane has a hold at the #1 spot currently for military sims.....Its just unreal. Its the NGX of Military aircraft.

The DCS A-10C is untouched in authenticity of systems. It is a bit shocking in my opinion how close to the real deal it is. I showed some of the weapons systems to my father-in-law who flew the F-16 in combat and even he was amazed at how good the system simulations were with DCS A-10C.

DCS A-10 is amazing.....but it is not for FSX....its its own program. A program I'd like to get shortly.

Thanks for the heads up. Although I rarely fly military stuff in FSX, for $5 I figured what the heck. Now that I purchased and got an email showing the transaction went thru, I am wondering how long it will take for a download link to show up in my store account. For some reason it just shows that I prepaid. Of well, if for some reason I dont get a link or a reply from the email I sent them, at least it was only $5 down the tube. I would be mad if I paid full price and didn't get it.

Wow, that was quick. I must have just barely gotten my order in for the F-14. ALthough I will probaby by the Christen Eagle as well, first I need to get a download link for my F-14 before I spend another $5.Saen Campbell

Saen,I received my (99 downloads) link immediately in my "account" page on the Iris website. You may want to go back to the main website, click on accounts, purchased products, and see if it won't give you a link on your account page; It should!

Well the links finally showed up in my account so, I am off to download now. I wonder if they are getting a lot of traffic from the sale and something got hung up along the way.Guess I will be getting the Christen Eagle as well since this download is finally up.Sean

their Christen Eagle is a great little bird for example, fantastic sounds on that one.Al
the Christen Eagle for 5 bucks today!http://www.irisfss.c...&products_id=30EDIT: soooooorrrryyyyyy.... I'm slllllooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwww

For those not wiling to spend 5 bucks on the IRIS F-14, there is the excellent freeware one made by Dino Cattaneo. In my opinion, that's one of the best freeware aircraft ever made.

Hauke Verrept

If you like decent flight modeling and good immersive sound, the Christen Eagle is well worth getting hold of. I bought that a long time ago and it is one of the better prop aircraft for FSX. Don't expect it to be easy to pull off precise aeros in it, like the Addictive Pitts, it takes some practice and you'll definitely do better with proper rudder pedals and a decent stick. But for something to challenge you in JF's Airshow Pilot, it's a great choice, and for five bucks it's an absolute steal. With regard to DCS A-10, it's hard to say how that's going to turn out, as it is currently only a Beta that you can buy now at a reduced price, which will eventually be the full version. At present the Beta is a bit unstable and multiplayer is problematic, but if/when they sort that out it will certainly be a very realistic simulation of the A-10. Incidentally, if anyone is considering it, I can tell you that actually runs pretty well on even a fairly modest computer and only slows down if you have a lot of stuff going on around you. The realism of it extends to such things beyond systems too, with for example, a pretty realistic simulation of belly landing and other more unusual things such as that. Worth a look now if you like combat sims and want to save a bit of money on what the finished product will cost. Pretty big download though, so make sure you have a decent connection.Al

I'm a little confused as to their site. Are all their products for FSX only? Their is nothing that I can see that indicates which platform some of the models are for. Some do confirm that they are for FSX, but others, such as their free ones, do not say.Any ides? Thanks,Jim D.

If you go to this link http://www.irisfss.com/the-hangar.php and then look on the right side where it says Commercial and Freeware, then click on the product it will show you which sim the a/c is for. It appears that all the FS9 stuff is free. Also note that a few of the FSX products require Acceleration to be installed while others just need FSX SP2. Thanks Sean,I don't know how I missed it as to which sim the aircraft was designed for. I'm not running X so I'll look at some of the freeware for now.Jim D.
