Ok, so here is the scenario: A couple of days ago I decided to make a flight out of KPHL( Philadelphia Intl) to KDCA ( Reagan National ). I wanted to fly the US Airways Express Dash-8. I got the aircraft, the sceneries, etc. Then I went to Philly to see how everything looked. I went there, saw just me and 2 more planes, every other gate was free. I double checked that I had AFCAD, and I did (It actually came with the scenery package). So I thought I needed some more AI, and I proceeded to WOAI to get some for that airport. I got ALL the packages that I didn't have ( like MIdwest Air or Miami Air Intl, etc. ). I installed them, went to Philly and saw ONE Southwest plane with like 6 other Dash-8, and no other planes. Literally, 3/4 of the gates were free, and that is certainly not the case in Philly. I went even at another hour, nothing. Any ideas? Thank You!

Have you gone to Settings - Traffic and moved the "Air Traffic Density" slider all the way up? The traffic system is set up to allow any level of traffic from the default file.Do you have a special scenery and AFCAD for KPHL? There are some available where the gate size is too small for many aircraft, so they won't appear at the gate.When you're out flying, do you hear a lot of chatter on the ATC frequencies?Did you add any traffic with TTools? If you're not careful, you can replace the original main traffic file with a smaller file, and get less traffic as a result.

You did not tell us what your Airline slider is set to - 10% or 80% or ?The number of aircraft which might show at any airport is dependent upon the availability of parking spaces of the correct radius, the time of day (early morning and late afternoon are often the busiest) and how you have your traffic slider set.Do some further experimenting with your settings and see if more traffic appears. Also give the AI engine some time to get traffic working - watch for half an hour and see if things change.Hope to hear back from you.

I had an extra AFCAD in my Addon Scenery folder in the main FS9 directory, prior to the download of my KPHL scenery (by the way, the scenery pack has an AFCAD attached). So I went to Philly at about 7:56 am (same as last time) and had a look round. No significant change. Again, about 1-2 other jetliners, and about 4-5 turboprops. There was an American Eagle ERJ and a UPS MD-11, at least I think they were. The turboprops seemed to be clustered together at the small gates. I have considered installing MyTraffic 2006, but I'd have to do a reinstall of my FS, and the models don't look as nice. I found this to be a problem at some other places too, like Sofia International in Bulgaria, even though I have every airline that goes there. Any further thoughts?

Ultimate Traffic is another option - still provides the best coverage of AI traffic. Dave.

Hmnn....... Is Sofia the default airport or doyou have an enhancement for it? The default has very few parking spaces available.I also checked KPHL (using the SunSky version) and I have plenty (15 or 20) of WOAI Airline Traffic there at 8 AM local time. I have most of the major US carriers by WOAI installed. Sorry, but I am at a loss to understand why you are seeing less.

An old modified AFCAD can override the new AFCAD (or cause a CTD) if the scenery layers are in the wrong place. You should only have one 'modified' AFCAD for each folder in your scenery folders, unless the addon scenery uses 2 AFCADs. (usually the 2nd one has the name 'waypoints' in the filename)

I've recently installed my Traffic from the post here. I acctually have MORE traffic than care for sometimes. Took a flight from ksan TO klas last night and the radio was non stop on the socal approach fregs. Really had to hurry to ansewer them. The controller never stoped talking.

With MyTraffic I keep the traffic density slider around 50%.

Why do you think you would have to reinstall FS9?The MyTraffic files will not affect anything you already have.I am still learning the management tools, but it appears that you can easily remove airlines that you have WoAI coverage and use MyTraffic for those you don't.regards,Joe

That I do not know - however if you use Bulgaria as the search criteria and limit the search to AI Flightplans, you will numerous packages available as a basis for creating suitable Traffic files.All you will need are the aircraft in question properly installed and the free Traffic Tools utility to compile the plans into Traffic files.

I just installed the MT2006. Man, are there planes. They are everywhere. Agree that the planes arn't the best as far as looks are but I just want LOTS of traffic and that is what I got. Thanks for the free program. Now if FSNav would only do the same thing and I have FSNav.JimCYWG
