The best US airports freeware

Featured Replies

I have previously done a list of 100 best freeware for FS2004. Now I wish to do a USA best freeware airports.I'll give a European example since I will leave it to others to name. FreeZ (Zurich) is one of the most amazing add-ons I have (that is not payware). I remember years ago looking for a freeware in Avsim's library of Zurich for FS2004 and couldn't find anything, so it is a blessing to have such projects shared by those willing to give of their time.

Glacier Bay by Holger and friends tops my list. Not specifically the region's airports. but the entire region is awesome.

Glen Falls New York made by Ed 'Geneer' Cox (kgfl_v22.zip in the library) and Pellston Regional Airport made by Matthias Rauh (kpln_fs2004.zip and kpln_fs2004_patch.zip in the library). These are small airport but are really nice.

So far we have Boston and Philadelphia. That is 2 airports. I have to check that NY one out.

The Pellston one is very nice. I did a flight there and back recently.I also like any of Shez Ansari's airports (KONT, KSNA, etc.) are nice. Also V1's Sacramento is a nice one as well.

OK.I'll leave this until the 30th December. Should be enough time to get more nominations.I'll make a starting list and others can be added to that, then after the 30th December voting can begin. Any idea about setting up a vote on a forum?

Joe DeGregorio's KBTR V2 here: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=128873and this KDEN photoscenery by Gottfried Razek, for both FS9 and FSX: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=139510Also a pretty decent KDTW scenery here: http://www.vnwa.com/Noramair/Projects/Detroit.htmlas well as this decent KALB scenery: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=150246If there's anything outside the US that I'd like to favour, I'd go with this freeware Duesseldorf scenery: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=147818 (this one also works with both FS9 and FSX)and these four Indonesian airports, one sadly being the forgotten one: -http://www.iscenery.net/project2.php - Soekarno Hatta International Airport-http://www.iscenery.net/project4.php - Juanda Int'l - new terminal addon here (requires registration): http://www.indoflyer.net/content.asp?contentid=854-http://www.iscenery.net/project3.php - Adi Sucipto Int'l/AFB-http://www.flightsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH1&fsec=0&fname=wiid1962jakartakemayoran.zip - The long missed Kemayoran airport :blink:I don't see why we can't have a Pease AFB scenery for FS9. I currently have a pretty decent scenery by Steve Hess, yet again this one's for FSX only and therefore, although with BMP textures, does not work in FS9. Dave.

Well, not exactly F4Phantom. Based on the screenshots provided, they are complete revamps of the entire terminal block and ground areas. As for KJFK...there's one here: http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=148285Dave.
