US Cities X - Las Vegas

FYI for those of you simmers with a gambling problem, Aerosoft's Las Vegas is out. I have FSDT's KLAS and OZx's Grand Canyon and they all seem to play well together.Happy Holidays!

IMO some may like this, it offers some nice details...as long as you dont get too close and also if your not offended by the rather odd lack of color correction (too bad). Also its the same Google-earth sketch-up based 3D modeling as thier Chicago-X, which isnt saying much.

I wonder how it compares to MegaSceneryX Las Vegas. Aerosoft definitely has more buildings and custom details to offer I think (MS uses the default buildings), but the photo part of MS looks very good on the screens.

My first question was, "Does it have night textures?" Apperantly it does. Lack of night textures would be a deal breaker. Nonetheless, I would like to see some night shots before I buy.I know Vegas well and I fly there often in the sim. I think I will like this.

MSFS Premium Deluxe Edition; Windows 11 Pro, I9-9900k; Asus Maximus XI Hero; Asus TUF RTX3080TI; 32GB G.Skill Ripjaw DDR4 3600; 2X Samsung 1TB 970EVO; NZXT Kraken X63; Seasonic Prime PX-1000, LG 48" C1 Series OLED, Honeycomb Yoke & TQ, CH Rudder Pedals, Logitech G13 Gamepad

Pretty sure it does not have night textures. Main reason I never buy stuff like this.

From the website: Night textures: Of course we know that night textures are important for Las Vegas. Therefore our developer has spend some time researching if we can make an exception for this single city: We can!A free update with night textures will be published until end of March 2011 for everyone who bought this product!

Didn't catch the March 2011 part. Maybe I'll wait until March for this.

What photo parts are they good within anyway? The areas close to Nellis, or on the areas around KLAS? Dave.

I'm sorry, I didn't understand the actual question, Dave. :blush:I just looked at the screenshots and found the mountain photo parts to look good. The city parts seem like high resolution and good colored ones too, so I would be ok with the product I think. I don't own both things yet.

The promo shots make the building look very low res, and light on detail. Might have to give this one a miss.

Ah, now that explains things. I wonder if both are compatible with each other, or with UTX for that matter. Dave.

Check out Google-Earth models for the area, they are >exactly the same models and they are bad up close IMO this was a lazy approach as at the minimum they could have used some freely available tools to convert and redo some of the textures but its was left intact from the original. Personaly other than the nice amount of buildings I dont like it.

Dang, this offer looked interesting but without night textures I can achieve higher resolution and apparently more buildings using whats out there already with a freeware/payware combo. My motto is "you get what you pay for at that very moment". That is to say I never expect anything more (no updates, no promises, no patches). I have read/seen too many of hopeful updates fall through the cracks no matter how good their intentions. So I will hold off until the night textures are released and I can check them out first.
