X Plane 10

Featured Replies

I am not starting this thread to start debate, or speculations. I am only expressing my deep anticipation of this program. I have been with flightsim since before some of you were born and long before this web site existed. I have bought every version of Microsoft flightsim and very impressed with latest. It is beautiful when working but is a ticking time bomb. If I sneeze too hard, I am presented with a new problem/error never before heard of and did not even exist before Win 7. I am presently re-installing once again with all addons which has become a career.I have had X Plane installed before but no longer using. I have read much discussion about X Plane 10, and eagerly awaiting it's release. I hope other developers of addons are also gearing up for this promising flightsim.

I also hope this. But in X-Plane, from the MSFS world, we already have:- Reality-XP (Windows only)- Real Environment Xtreme (Windows only)- Carenado (Windows, Mac, Linux)Who's next ? :( You can also find very good add-ons here:http://www.x-plane.com/pg_X-World.htmlHappy flying.

Maybe I should start a new post but will see if I can get a little question answered here. Are the A/C's, scenery and other addons that are used in previous versions of X-Plane compatible/work in X-Plane 10? If not, I will continue to wait until 10 is available. I am really looking forward to its release and ready to purchase when it is (even if it needs updates immediately). Thanks

XP9.6 aircraft will be compatible with XP10.Anything before XP9.3 will not be compatible.

I too have been waiting for xplane 10. And considering the mood after the cancellation of the CRJ, here is some good news... xplane tuesdays are back and the new suburb photos look amazing. any thoughts?http://www.x-plane.com/pg_news.html

Incredible! I hope the "autogen" and ground textures can be customized on a regional basis, if so seems like the great opportunity for 3rd party add-ons.

Just blown away....

This is amazing.......I believe I can again immerse myself in a sim. I can see myself flying to an airport, get into a vehicle and tour a city/town, return to the airport and take off and fly back to home airport. I am very hopeful that the new sim will be reliable in order to do this. If not, it could not be any worse than what I have been experiencing for past few years. This waiting period is giving me the opportunity to save as much plastic as I can to take the plunge when it is released.

Well, there are payware cars in the X-Plane.org store. So you could drive a Ferrari to a private jet I guess. And have you seen the highway autogen shots?? You may have the choice between different highways and side roads! Just imagine trying to not get hit by a bunch of, quite literally, mindless drivers!

I own every X-Plane version and unless Austin has REALLY figured out he needs to quits hosing developers with non compatible versions, it will never catch FSX. I did notice a cockpit shot of a GA using the same default GPS that is missing stuff like flight plan capability. It is ridiculous after all these years to offer that as the only default and yes I do own the RXP X-Plane version which is a non integrated arrangement with plugins. The quality of VC instrument graphics have been FAR inferior to FSX (i.e. F1 Mustang). Like flying with other traffic in the sky? Good luck. X-Plane issues revisions on a frequent basis (several a year) that wreck every singe aircraft you own that worked in the previous version. You then hope the developer of the 'old version' plane updates his products. I have over a $200 worth of X-Plane aircraft that the developer quit supporting because of the cost to keep up with new versions. The only hope X-Plane has to ever catch FSX is to KEEP developers creating add-ons and not fixing stuff that is broken every revision. I hope X-Plane is terrific, however, I have learned that the details are far less impressive than the marketing hype. The unfortunate part is I don't think Austin can keep his hands off of it long enough to allow talented developers to create spectacular add-on's that he never dreamed of. Thanks.Bob.. :)

Could you list the aircraft you have that are not compatible with the X-Plane updates?I know of 5 developers who have made payware add ons for XP9 and the only adjustment that had to be made was engine figures for an A330 by Peter Hager for, I think it was v9.3.You will very rarely find an add on compatible with a different version number of X Plane. ie. Version 8.x compatible with version 9.xAs far as VC instruments, you obviously haven't seen Tom Kylers MU2 or Falco, Nils BK117, Alex's work in Progress Valkyrie. Dare I say it, even my 2 offerings. Full 3D cockpits with 3D gauges that not even FSX has in ANY product. I'm just curious, why would you keep buying X Plane and all those add ons if you dislike it so much?

The X737 for one! The current update is for X-Plane 9.6+

Thanks
