January 6, 201115 yr Hi all,Having gotten a bit stale with FSX i wondered how i might improve my enthusiasm for it again.Suddenly had the idea of creating photo scenery. Im in the process of producing photo scenery for FSX for Jersey, including the airport. If anybody has any photos of the airport they would be hugely beneficial to help me create the various scenery objects.I hope to move on to Guernsey aswell, but one step at a time.A screenshot is attached to show progress so far.Oh im not sure what the restrictions are of using google earth as a photo background (even though its free) so perhaps that may cause some issues???Anyway stay tuned for further progressTom Tom Why not read some useful tips and tricks - http://forum.avsim.n...22#entry1965722
January 6, 201115 yr Tim Clayton did some pretty good airports for the Channel Islands. Don't know if they will fit your photoscenery, but I look forward to trying it as I used to enjoy island hopping there in FS9 and miss it now I'm an fsx user.I would be happy to beta test it for you if you pm me.IAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

January 8, 201115 yr Tim Clayton was very helpful when I had a problem a whle back with his sceneries. I emailed him and it turned out to be a compatability issue with the trees, so he created another file and sent it to me and it worked perfectly. That was FS9 though, but he upgraded his stuff to work in fsx or rewrote it.I do seem to recall aamall problem with invisable objects causing crashes and remember having to turn off crash detection thoughI do have it on my system, though haven't flown in the CI too much due to the default land scenery. I would just love to have some photoscenery, especially if the textures could be made at 30cmIAN Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

January 9, 201115 yr Author It's a great airport so hopefully it will make a good addition to the scenery archiveTom Tom Why not read some useful tips and tricks - http://forum.avsim.n...22#entry1965722
January 9, 201115 yr Looks good, but I don't think you'll be able to release it even as freeware without obtaining a licence from google. Seem to remember there was an excellent photoscenery package, covering Germany in its entirety but had to be removed from the library due to licensing issues.Out of interest, which programs are you using to place the photo tiles? I had a bash at doing Jersey for myself a couple of years ago, but gave up as I could never get the tiles aligned properly. i7 2600k @ 5.1Ghz, ASUS Sabertooth P67, 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600Mhz, EVGA GTX 580 @ 950MHz, OCZ Vertex II 240GB, ASUS Xonar DG, Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W PSU, Antec KÜHLER 620 W/C, Corsair 600T SE White My FS9 Screens - http://fs9screens.blogspot.com/ Callum Richardson

March 3, 201115 yr Author Progress has considerably slowed after an unplanned reformat of my pc, leading to a loss of some data. My main concern is that i have lost the shape file from sbuilder for the terrain and i had this looking pretty good before it disappeared. So whether i can recreate this again to the same degree of satisfaction is anyones guess lol.I noticed recently that google images are dated 2005 but there seems to have been some changes made to the airport in 2007 and this may mean that the latest situation isnt portrayed overly well.Any input in the form of images, plans etc would be a huge help!!Tom Tom Why not read some useful tips and tricks - http://forum.avsim.n...22#entry1965722
March 19, 201115 yr Author If anybody has any photos of the airport or surrounding area id be grateful, my searches of airliners.net, google and jetphotos.net have yielded some valuable images but im stuck with drawing the buildings, particulaly the terminal and flying club, most of the photos are aimed around the runway and taxiways.Any help is appreciated Tom Tom Why not read some useful tips and tricks - http://forum.avsim.n...22#entry1965722
