All,I would like to present to you an extension to my FSX hobby - Toms Scenery http://tomsscenery.site40.net/As this thread documents i am in the process of creating scenery for one of the channel islands (Jersey :() I have been creating this scenery for a few months now and progress at times is slow. However it is developing further. As a suggestion from a forum member to create a blog i went one step further and created a website as a reference for my scenery (which will of course be freeware). Along with my scenery i will hopefully offer some tutorials based on my experiences producing scenery with some FAQ's etc.Anyway you can use the gallery to see how my EGJJ scenery is progressing - although some of these shots are a little dated (i had some scenery sync issues that have now been resolved). Note that gallery pages 2 and 3 are just duplicates of page 1 (i am getting around to finishing the site - but since it is largely complete i thought id share it). This is my first ever attempt at scenery so it is taking me a looooong time.Anyway i hope to beta test this scenery in the future, but for now any feedback on the site in any form is welcome - particularly if it doesnt work for you.ThanksTom

AdamAny photos airside would be a god send. I have no idea what the fuel depot looks like if there is one. Some closeups of the gates would be good and if possible external photos of the arrivals building airside and hangars near the new tower would be useful but in all honesty anything is a help.Tom

What does this mean under your screenshots? Is it Latin?"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit. Morbi turpis arcu, aliquet ac rhoncus quis, congue sed erat. Mauris augue magna, auctor sit"

Yes, that's Latin."Lorem ipsum..." is generic placeholder text that's been used for typesetting and other graphical / textual duties for years.

Well it just so happens that i was going to provide an update. Although it is nothing exciting im afraid.Unfortunately due to my workload and other commitments it seems that this little side hobby of scenery design is getting less and less of my time.As such i think it may be worth calling it a day. BUT im more than prepared to pass the source files i have to anybody who is willing to take this project on from where i have got to so far.All i was going to do next was finish the ground poly and a couple of buildings and that was it. But of course somebody may wish to develop this even further.Anyway as a compromise the links below will allow anyone to download the output scenery files i.e. the files that should be added to the FSX Addon Scenery folder. This will atleast load the scenery in the present form i have it in, which in my opinion is far better than the default FSX scenery. Feel free to download, modify improve it, etc. Its simply a case of copying the folder to the Addon scenery folder and then adding it in FSX. There are no additional files or effects. You will notice that the ground poly is not complete, but it kind of shows where i was heading. You may wish to remove that from the scenery. in favour of the default ground textures.I haven't tested this on other setups so you may wish to experiment with the graphics settings to get the best out of the terrain i have created, particularly for the approach to RW09. My settings for scenery are, level of detail radius: largeMesh complexity: 75Mesh resolution: 10Texture Resolution: 1Water effects: Mid 1.xIf anyone does want the original source files i can arrange some sort of download of those, although they are a big download (800mb).Scenery Files: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=R2ERRQA4Picture to show you what it looks like at the moment.ThanksTom

Sad news, Tom.But that's how the freeware work goes and depends on other things, right? Great idea of sharing the progress though, maybe some talented guy can help.As I'm far away from any talent, I actually wish for it to happen. smile.png
