So hows the 2k4 meridian?

There is some kind of conflict I have with Powerstrip running. In fact it works fine with PS until I use ctrl-alt hotkey to change gamma or anything else. I tried ctrl-shift, but for some reason my hotkeys don't work with that in PS.Otherwise, the Meridian is FANTASTIC, and performs super well. I just wish it flew at 280 knots!Noel

I installed it and wow wow! Nice work I been doning flights all over my home area in East Tennessee and I tell you I had to actually break out my Garmin Manual to refresh myself on the proper use! I flown several hours since it was realeased and I never had any problems with the refresh of the GNS530 at all! All the old problems as well have gone as well such as the auto pilot coupling. I even got to test on one flight the vertical approach feature in the GNS530 and I tell you it was spot-ON! Flight1 never ceases to amaze me they did a fine job! And if you don't have it I think that paying 29.95 or 39.95(Boxed) beats paying 1.75Million for the real thing!!!

Yes, the Meridian 2004 has all the latest Reality XP technology (including the upgrades True Display XP v2.1 about to be showcased in the Jet Line 4 v2.1 upgrade, for a faster code and brighter display!). From the 2002 version, there are a lot of improvements in performance and features! Also for the shortcut keys, don't forget you can assign a lot of functions with the dual key mode. use something like:feature=G,B to operate the feature with a successive CTRL+SHIFT+G then CTRL+SHIFT+B ! This can be assigned for example like a first key for a device selection, then a second key for a function on this device. You can also for example always choose P for plus and M for minus, then first select the device of choice with a first keystroke, then the Plus or Minus of this device (think about devices with knobs). This is also particulalry useful for people using GoFlight hardware (or any hardware able to send keystrokes to the computer from a hardware button!!) to map the STEC Autopilot functions (even the ones not standard in FS, such as the remote selector...)In that respect, the new Reality XP Meridian 2004 gauges are almost like a new product in itself!!Hope this helps!

That is the source of your problems. The FS priority raise could induce severe lag in 530 response.Jos

I was one of the early requestors of this for the 530XP waaaaay back when. But, note that not all hardware devices' drivers can generate this kind of keystroke sequence. As a for-instance, the GoFlight GF-T8 toggle switch unit cannot generate keystrokes at all (at least so far), and the RP-48 unit that has both knobs and pushbuttons can only generate keystrokes from the buttons, not the knobs (this is with the 1.29 drivers). I have not yet verified that even the buttons can generate this dual ctrl-shift sequence, as the programming window that shows the keystrokes can only show five keys at a time. The other piece of hardware that I have is the PFC Avionics Panel, and Pete Dowson's driver for it can only generate a single ctrl-shift- sequence for its knobs and buttons. It *can* generate a different sequence for a button's push and release, but I haven't tried that yet to see if it works in this application. So anyway my point is that the keyboard programming is great, but the dual-ctrl-shift sequence is only usable with some hardware - I have four GoFlight modules and only 1/2 of of one of them can do that. Having ctrl- and/or shift- functions also available to us would be great. Thanks for listening,Dave Blevins

False alarm. Read my other post--it's not the Meridian, but the latest version of Powerstrip that is the culprit.Noel
