Level-D Such a shame

Featured Replies

Hmm. Kicked out.One might wonder why, with such eloquent and polite prose? We can only guess.
So what you are suggesting is we now have to kiss &@($* to get support, and if we get a little to demanding we should be banned?

Simba-nl:I understand that English is not your first language. You did not understand my post. I was not criticizing you - I was criticizing Mr D.Shutt for his mistakes. I fully support you and everybody else who has had trouble with the official Level D forum. I find the attitude of Mr Shutt in this forum unacceptable and I criticize him when I think he is wrong or rude to people. You said "Seems to me that I kicked the holy Level-D church" and I said - agreeing with you! - "Kick that Church!". There is another post here from another person that is supporting you, but perhaps you did not understand that.I am sorry you were banned from the official forum, but it was not my fault. Many people have been banned because they complain, talk about bugs, dont "kiss &@($*".From the day the 767 was released Level D did not accept any criticism. Their attitude is: "Our product is perfect. You do not have the right to criticize or question us".You will always find support at this non-official forum, but please be more careful with your English.May I ask - what is your first language?A note to all forum readers: please remember that many many simmers do not speak English as their first language. They make a great effort to express themselves correctly in these forums, so it would be correct for all of us to make an equally great effort to understand - and help - them.

I am really sorry that I misread your statement, My excuses for that. My native language is Dutch by the way...

Dutch - of course - "nl". I am English. My half-sister played piano for many years in the Hilversum Radio Orchestra and the Netherlands Philhramonic, and when I was about 12 I visited Hilversum and Amsterdam with her. That was my very first trip to another country. I left England in 1980 and never went back - I now live in Brasil.I hope you learn how to get the best out of the Level D 767 - it is one of the very best aircraft made for FS. It is a shame that the Level D attitude is not so good.I am sure you will always be able to get help here.Best wishes.

This was just before I switched over to the 737NG series. If you know how to download from the newschannels like Usenet, you can also find it in full HD in 1 movie in: alt.binaries.boneless.Search for KLM763 Boeing 767-300ER EDDS to LOWI Happy landings...

If you became obusive in a department store, the management would remove you. Why should a forum be any different?People are not paid to listen to ranting and carrying on.No-one (prior to your post) suggested that you need to "kiss-&@($*". What everyone needs to do is exercise politeness and respect, rather than ranting from the assumed anonymous comfort they have behind their keyboards. If you rant, people will switch off. Or, if it is within their power, they may well switch you off! Simple really.

Thanks for the link to your videos - they are very well made.

Not everybody does the 'fanboi' thing you know :D They might enjoy the product but it's fair to expect some support for issues you might encounter and if it's proven to be real it's also fair to expect the developer to fix them. To publish a 'workaround' type solution is only ok for the interim while you fix it with a patch IMO, for that patch to take two years, if it's even in development, which I highly doubt, is not acceptable. It's also not acceptable for the developer to act in such a condescending manner, here and on their own forums. It's understandable that the end user feels frustrated taking the time frame in consideration. I for one will never buy anything from them again. There's plenty better developers out there I am willing to send my money. Even PMDG's, which makes products 100x better, forum beams of arrogance, but they act courteous and respectful towards their customers. I'll support them always and cannot wait for the NGX.

What some people fail to realise is that, all software products are only simulations. Therefore, they will not perform as accurately as the real thing does. Even PMDG will admit to that! The developers do a magnificent job doing what they do so, they should be praised and not cricised, of their work. It is them and them alone that, has turned Microsoft Flight Simulator into a sim that hardcore flyers like the ones who frequent this forum are demanding. It is also unfair to compare each developer with another. For a long time Level-D was the most accurate simulation of an airliner available and therefore should command every respect from their customers.Daryl Shutt has always earned my admiration, as some of the questions he has to deal with, border on the ridiculous by people, to damn lazy to read the full manual that is provided. Daryl has a full time job to cope with and offers his support in his free time. While doing this he is taking up his private leisure time to help people.Level-D's developers are also people with full time jobs so ultimately, have to split their leisure time up with even more work trying to keep you guys happy. They still command the best ever Boeing 767 on the market and is a head and shoulders above any other immitations that have surfaced since their original model.Comparisons are now being made to the forthcoming NGX by 'you know who' but remember this, the cost of buying the Level-D 767 will remain a lot cheaper than the one your all waiting for assuming you never heard of IFLY. That one too, is true value for money and 'buck for buck' will give you the biggest bang.I am looking forward to Level-D's 757 because i know that it will be the best ever but appreciate, they can't finish that if they are being asked to stop what they are doing and examine years ago's coding. The problem brought up by our Dutch freind is a valid one but, there is a way around it for now. Remember, patience is a virtue.

@c402The point being no one is expected to "kiss &@($*" or be a "a really excited user"If people don't conduct themselves properly, the validity or otherwise of their grievance becomes of secondary (or even no) importance. It doesn't matter whether you agree with me or not on this point, but it may help some understand why they get banned or removed when issuing what they think are "reasonable" requests.Carry on like a child, and it is only appropriate that you get sent to your room (usually without any supper). My casual observation is that petulant behavior is far too common in FS forums, particularly if you consider the age and demographic involved.Agree or not, really it doesn't matter ... But no point complaining after one has been excluded. You now have an explanation.FWIW I have no affiliation with LevelD, apart from owning the 767. Whilst no Fan "boi" I am an FS developer, and my hat is off to the team that developed this a/c. It still holds it's own several years down the track.

northridge, thank you for your post. I avoid posting in the "official" Level-D 767 forum to avoid receiving wise-&@($* replies from that guy DShut. I've been flying the LDS 767 since it first came out many many years ago and it is still my favorite aircraft. Fortunately, I have 3 friends who fly the real-world 767 (American Airlines, United and LAN). So, to avoid Mr. WiseAss replies, I go straight with my questions to the real 767 pilots.Kerke

Thanks to a user who sent some situation files to the team, the bouncing aircraft bug has been solved and fixed. A replacement file will soon be posted to the official Level-D forum after further testing. Thanks, Mr. Wise-&@($*
